"Sure. Be my pleasure," he replies. Then he turns me. He zips up my dress and then spins me back toward him.
I put my arms around his neck, asking, "Babes, where are we going tonight?"
"Masa. It has three Michelin stars."
"Wow. What kind of food is it?" I inquire.
"It's Japanese, and we're sitting at the counter so you can get the real experience by watching the chef. I hope ya like that type of food."
I shrug and confess, "I've never had Japanese food."
He gapes at me. "How is that possible?"
"I don't know, it just is. Don't make me feel bad about it."
His face falls. "I'm not trying to make ya feel bad about it."
"Okay, Thank you."
"I'm sure you'll love it," he claims, then adds, "Every foodie needs to experience it."
I laugh. "I'm not a foodie, just a wannabe, remember?"
He chuckles. "Well, I guess I'll make all your foodie dreams come true. Let's go, princess."

The energy of the city buzzes throughout me. I missed New York, but being home has never felt so good, especially with Maeve next to me.
I need to convince my father to let me move back.
I glance over at my bride. Her lit-up face makes me believe she feels the city's energy too.
She'd thrive here.
She stares in awe at the passing buildings, then turns to me, asking, "What are ya staring at?"
I squeeze her thigh, answering, "Ya."
She blushes and smirks. "Can't keep your eyes off me, can ya?"
"Nope," I admit. My wife really is a stunner, and I could stare at her all day.
She beams brighter and questions, "So what's so special about this restaurant?"
I boast, "Masa is the best. It has the continent's best sushi chef, Chef Masa Takayama. Everything he creates is omakase-style."
She arches her eyebrow, quizzing, "What does that word mean?"
"Omakase is a meal consisting of dishes selected by the chef. It basically means 'I'll leave it up to ya,' so the chef gets to decide."
"So, everyone lets him make whatever for them?"
"Aye."
"Is that normal in New York?" she questions.
