My heart beats a little frantically in my chest at how unfortunate this is. Because if it wasn’t for Tomas, I’d take Trenton up on his obvious offer. We would have a little fun back there. But no, my dick and heart just aren’t interested.

“We’ll see,” I say and then startle when Tomas jerks the passenger side door open.

“We’re gonna go soon.”

I glance down at my beer and then smile over at Trenton. “Gonna go chug this.”

He nods as I slide out and follow Tomas down the driveway, his arm brushing against mine.

“Seems someone has a crush,” Tomas mutters softly.

I’m not sure if he’s talking about himself or Trenton so I don’t say a word, just take another swig of beer. And when we’re all done with our bottles, we throw them in the trash and load up in Trenton’s Cadillac, Tomas steering me to the backseat with him and Jordan while Max takes the front.

Trenton looks a little disappointed, but Tomas just pats his seat and tells him to drive. So he does. We drive for fifteen minutes to a small bar on the outskirts of town. It looks a bit shady, but I feel safe with these guys around me. When we make it inside, people turn to look, some stares lingering a little too long on me, but eventually they turn their gazes back to their own business. Seems they don’t mind me being here, which is fine by me. I just want to go about my evening.

“Come on,” Trenton says, grabbing on to my arm and pulling me toward the bar. Tomas grumbles something under his breath, but I ignore him and follow my new friend to the bar.

“What do you want? It’s on me,” Trenton tells me as he leans against the bar. The woman behind the counter smiles at me, and I offer her a small wink.

“How about a whiskey, neat,” I say and Trenton stares at me. “I like a manly drink now and again.”

He nudges me and places my order with the bartender. On my left, I feel Tomas move up next to me. I don’t even need to look to know who it is. I can just smell him.

“Howdy,” I say, turning to stare at him.

“Hey.” He raps his knuckles on the bar top and meets my gaze. Our eyes lock and just as they do, a woman sidles up next to him and his attention is diverted.Well, that was fast, I think as the bartender returns with my drink. I take it, letting Trenton lead me to a high top in the corner. Max and Jordan are already at the pool table, talking to each other as they set the table.

“You play pool?” Trenton asks as he pulls his chair really close to me. I peer over and see Tomas still talking to that woman and feel a sigh build up inside of me.

“Yeah, I do. And I’m terrible at it,” I reply, turning my gaze back to Trenton and taking a small sip of my whiskey.

“Oh yeah? We’ll see. Let’s grab the next table. Play a game or two.”

I nod and then lean back, talking to my new friend about his job—he works with Tomas—until a pool table finally opens up. We make our way over to it, grabbing our cue sticks and setting up the balls. Trenton wastes no time in touching me as much as he possibly can.

“It’s like this,” Trenton says, leaning into me from behind and helping me adjust my cue stick.

I bite back a smile when I see Tomas glowering at us from the bar. I can’t help but peek. I’m not one for games, but at the same time, he’s made no effort to remove that woman from his side. So this is only fair. And Trenton is being a very good teacher.

“I get it now,” I say, and Trenton moves away from my back and stands to the side, watching as I wiggle my ass a little and knock a ball into the pocket.

Trenton’s eyes widen as does my smile.

“You are a very good teacher,” I tease and Trenton blinks.

“Yeah, I must be.”

I let Trenton show me a few more moves, exciting him each time I miraculously make the ball into the pocket. We do this until I decide it’s time for drink two.

“This one, I buy,” I tell him and he beams at me, his cheeks slightly flushed.

I move toward the bar and end up squeezed in next to Tomas who turns to face me.

“Hello, stranger,” I tell him, and he narrows his gaze at me.

“You’re better at pool than you let on.”

“Were you watching me?” I ask, with an arched eyebrow before placing my next order, a gin and tonic.
