He leans close and his forehead touches mine. “I love you too. More than I ever thought possible. You’re mine and I’m yours. Never doubt that.” He closes his eyes. “I think I’ve been falling for you since the moment we met, even if you were the one down on the ground.”

I let out the breath I’ve been holding. “You had me scared for a moment.” I pull back. “So, does this mean we get our happily ever after?”

His smile is wide and sure. “Even better, sweet girl. We get a real life together, with all the good and bad and the ups and downs life brings. I can’t wait to spend all those moments with you. Falling for you.”

Neither can I. Life is an amazing and miraculous gift. I never thought real life could be better than a book, but maybe, just maybe it is.

Chapter Fifty-Two

Women have needs too, dang it! -Ronnie

Ronnie

The months before graduation fly by. Sawyer and I grow closer than ever, and he becomes close to my Dad too, which makes me immensely happy. I love that he’s practically part of our family now. We are inseparable, but I still make time for Sam. Sawyer makes us hang out alone sometimes because he understands how important that is for both of us. I say makes us, because Sam is more than happy to be the third wheel. She loves Sawyer like a brother and teases him like one too. She also has a theory that hot guys have other hot guys as friends. She is convinced that one day she will meet her own guy by hanging out with Sawyer.

For a month before my graduation, Sawyer taunts me with the promise of a big present. I’m anxious to see what it is when he picks me up the Saturday after graduation.

“You ready to see what I have in store for the weekend?” His grin is cocky and smug, and I laugh.

“Yes, please! I’m dying to know what’s up. You’re the master of secrets. I thought for sure you would give in last night.” He looks over and I waggle my eyebrows. I shoot him a naughty grin. I used both my hands and my mouth to try to persuade him to give up his plans. All I know is he came over and packed a bag for me, and my dad seemed totally cool with it. He wouldn’t even let me see what was going in the bag.

We drive for hours, and Sawyer refuses to answer any of my questions. I love him, but by the time we’re four hours in, I’m starting to get irritated. I fold my arms over my chest and sit in the passenger seat like a pouty eight-year old.

“I love how when you don’t get things your way, you go full into bratty little girl mode.” Sawyer chuckles softly. When he looks over at me, I stick my tongue out at him. I glance out at the trees as they whiz by. We’re starting to get close to the beach, I know. We passed the Florida state sign a couple of hours ago, so I have a general idea where we’re headed.

Sawyer pulls over at a gas station and I get out to pee. When I come back to the car, he’s holding something black in his hands.

“What’s that?” I know my tone is full of attitude, but frankly I don’t care. Ever since I was little, I haven’t been big on surprises.

“It’s a blindfold, Red. For the rest of the trip, you’ll be wearing it.” He’s wearing that sexy know it all smirk again. Even though I’m irritated and annoyed I can’t help but clench my thighs together. I love that look.

Still, he doesn’t need to know that. “Sawyer Rodriquez, I am about to scream if we don’t get there soon. Why would I want to wear a blindfold?”

He takes my hand. “Because you’ll ruin my surprise and you wouldn’t want to do that. Besides, it’s not that much farther away. Please, baby.” He squeezes my hand. I sigh loudly in irritation as I take the blindfold from him.

“Okay, but you owe me big.” I wink at him and he kisses me lightly.

For the next forty-five minutes, I continue to grumble. He decides to tease me with touches as he drives. His hand strokes along my upper thigh, getting slowly closer to my core. Along with the sensation of having no sight, every touch is magnified. I can smell and hear the ocean, but when he finally stops the car I’m so wound up with want that I don’t even care where we are.

He knows it too. “Care to see where we are?”

I groan. “I don’t even care anymore. Can you just quit teasing me and touch me?” I’m wearing a skirt and I arch my back so that he can pull my panties down. After so much foreplay, I’m wet and ready. He reclines my seat and I lay back. I feel his rough hands slowly stroking my slit and I squirm and bite my lip. He’s driving me nuts.

“So wet, babe. So ready for me.” His voice is husky with need and want. I feel his mouth against my neck and arch my hips again.

“Please, Sawyer.”

“I’ll make you feel good, baby. Don’t worry.” His fingers dip into my folds and continue their slow stroking. Fuck, get to the good stuff already.

When his thumb grazes my clit, I cry out. The circles he makes with his thumb drive me crazy and I feel my orgasm building quickly. When I come and feel the rush of pleasure I always feel with him, I throw my head back and shudder.

“God, that felt good.”

He tugs at my blindfold and I blink at the sudden sunlight. Sawyer’s cocky grin is the first thing I see. “Now, would you like to see where we are?”

I’m so blissed out by my orgasm that I nod my head meekly. “Sure.”

He moves the lever on the seat so that I’m sitting upright again. I gasp as I see the beach house in front of me. It’s the beach house that my parents and I used to stay in when I was little. How did he remember? We haven’t talked about this place in months. Not since that night in the hotel.
