I’m playing with fire, and I know it. But I don’t care. Even though neither of us will openly admit it, Hayden and I are falling for each other.

I feel it.

I know it.

It just is what it is.

And maybe it’s because the champagne has emboldened me, but I’m ready to take us to the next level.

That’s why I say, “I think it’s time for some dares. Enough with the stalling. Let’s be brave and adventurous.”

“Hell, yeah,” he responds, a new kind of fire in his eyes.

Hayden gets to go first, as it’s his turn.

I remind him of that, and he says, “I’ll start with an easy one.”

I shrug. “It’s your choice.”

He points to the champagne flute in my hand and throws out, “I dare you to chug the rest of that Dom.”

Ha, wait until he hears my dare for him.

I snort. “That really is an easy one.”

There’s not much champagne left in my flute as it is, so chugging it down is a snap.

After I complete my dare, I tilt my empty flute at him and ask, “Still up for a dare for your turn?”

“Fuck,” he scoffs. “Bring it on, babe.”

Damn, I used to hate his terms of endearment, but now they make me feel all warm and tingly inside.

Actually, it is a little warm in the room.

And that inspires my dare.

Leaning forward, I set my empty flute on the coffee table, and, nodding to his chest, I say, “I dare you to take off your shirt.”

His brows fly up. “Wait. Is this Truth or Dare or strip poker?”

“Ha ha.” I roll my eyes. “Do you accept the dare or not?”

“What do you think?” he chuffs.

After setting his glass down on the table, he starts unbuttoning his shirt ever so slowly.

Kill me now.

I can’t tear my gaze away as his smooth, hard chest is slowly revealed.

“Hmmm,” I murmur, “looks like we have a ‘yes’ response.”

Calling me out, as he knows me so well, he says, “It looks like you’re enjoying it too.”

Shrugging, I admit, “I am. It’s not a bad view.”

It’s not. Hayden has an incredible body, all taut and tight.
