“Gray, we’ve taken a thousand already.”

“Then what’s one more?” I shrug with a smile. The night is almost over, the party has emptied out now—with the exception of our friends, who have stuck around to help Sierra with the clean-up.

“Hey everyone, let’s take a group shot before we lock up for the night,” I call to them. “Everyone in front of the counter.”

Tucker crowds in next to Holden and Aubrey, while Jake, Everly and Birdie move to stand on the other side of them. Jules and Beckett squeeze in and everyone makes a little room for Sierra to stand in the center. I hold my phone up high in front of me and snap a bunch of photos.

It’s only fitting to capture this special night with the people who have been with Sierra and I every step of the way. I scroll through the pictures, my eyes settling on Sierra in the middle of all our friends. The love I have for this girl is never-ending, and the life I have with her is worlds away from my life before I met her, but with every passing day I feel even more certain that it’s the life I’m meant to live. With Sierra.

When the bakery is spotless, our friends say goodbye and head home. Sierra turns off the lights in her brand-new bakery and locks the door behind us.

We walk to my truck together and I open the door for her. With one foot on the running board, I pull her back into my chest before she can slide into the passenger seat. “You did it, sunshine. You made your dream come true. I’m proud of you.”

She’s looking at me like she’s mine, and damn rights she is. She will be until the day I die. I fold her into my arms, and I count my lucky stars.

“I love you.”

“I love you too,” I say, my lips brushing hers. “After your bath do you wanna fuck like wild animals tonight?”

She laughs against my lips. “You have a way with words, Gray,” she says, her pillowy lips stealing another kiss. “And the answer is always yes. I never stand a chance when it comes to you.”

THE END
