My little liar has me completely upside down. I cannot go on like this for much longer.

I blink a few times as I am dragged out of a reverie where I am spending time with Neveah.

In the imagined reality, we aren’t doing anything, except sitting in silence together.

The imagined scene was so vivid, soreal, that I could smell the scent of her skin, along with the soap she uses for her hair.

I could feel her skin against mine as she leaned into me.

Even the yapping little iypinnit was curled up at our feet, snoozing contentedly.

This cannot go on. I need to get over this obsession, or whatever it is.

The truth is, if I have someone like Neveah in the back of my mind at all times, I’ll never be able to do my job properly.

If I can’t spend time away from her, if I can’t stop obsessing over her, then I’ll never be able to leave this estate again.

And that wouldn’t be good.

She could always come with you,an unbidden voice in my head speaks, and I shudder to think that I am so enamored with Neveah that I’d be willing to drag her along with me.

To counteract all of this, I am meeting up with Thali today. We are heading for our favorite tavern first before we are heading for my apartment near the ports.

It is only when I get in the carriage and it starts rolling away from my family’s estate that I realize how quiet the estate really is.

As someone who constantly needs stimulation, to keep my mind busy, I am surprised that I have made it at the Ilnais estate this long without killing someone.

It’s all Neveah,I think to myself, and my stomach curdles at the realization. She has me well and truly wrapped around her finger even if she doesn’t know it.

My driver stops the carriage right outside the tavern, which was built in the center of Pyrthos when the city was still young.

It is one of the oldest establishments in all of Oshta, and it caters mostly to the noble class of dark elves, though if you’re wealthy enough, you can buy your way in.

Thali is waiting for me outside the tavern, and together we walk in and find a table.

“It has been too long,” he tells me as we toast, each holding a tumbler with two shots of zhisk sloshing around inside them.

“Yes, it has,” I don’t miss how distracted I sound. My mind keeps trailing back to Neveah and the way she mewled for me while I pleasured her last night. “How have you been? Any new clients?”

Thali talks animatedly about his latest jobs, and I try to keep track as best I can, but every time I think I have a handle on the conversation, I am dragged back to my memories of Neveah begging me to make her cum.

“Shall we go?” Thali slaps a bag filled with Ipia coins down on the table and whistles at the tavern’s owner, who nods and waves.

“Sure.” I sigh with relief as we head for my carriage which waits outside.

Maybe a good training session will help me get my mind off Neveah,I think hopefully as we drive through the bustling streets of Pyrthos.

My apartment is in the warehouse district near the ports, and it is a loft apartment above an abandoned warehouse. I own the entire building, and I have transformed the lower half of the warehouse into a training center.

Thali and I warm up before doing a body conditioning routine that we came up with years ago.

“Are you sure you’re okay?” Thali gasps the words as we finish the last round of our last circuit.

We have been here for an hour, and even though we’re both fit, the kind of training we do could exhaust even the fittest dark elf.

“I’m fine.” I grunt the words as I throw him a broadsword. “Now, en guarde!”

We attack and parry each other with the broadsword for what feels like forever. By the time we switch to the longsword, my muscles are straining and sweat has pooled in every crevice of my body.
