He nodded. "I get it. I'm gonna hit the waves with Gray."

"Meet back here in a few hours?" I nuzzled my face into his chest, inhaling.

"It's a date." He pressed one last kiss to my forehead before letting me go. I fanned my face because I was suddenly hot and needy. It wasn't great timing, but my body wanted what it wanted. As True stepped away, he took one look at my face and smirked because he could read me so well. He knew exactly how I was feeling.

"Unless you want to cancel and let me take you back to bed?" He raised his eyebrow, that infuriatingly hot smirk still on his face.

"Ugh, don't tempt me. It's really not fair." I was practically whining, forcing my feet to move back away from the heat of his body. I was flushed from head to toe, and my heart was racing.

He let out a low chuckle as he ran his finger down my cheek to my collar bone, leaving chills in its wake. "See you later."

I shook my head to clear the lust-filled haze. No, I needed this lunch. I walked out the front door to the sound of his laughter as I tried to calm my racing heart and get my desire in check.

Making my way down to the front of the building, I slid into Kennedy's SUV. She stared at me a second before grinning. "Someone looks worked up."

I let out a heavy sigh, and my head fell into my hands. "You have no idea. I swear, I can't get enough of True. It's insane, really. I'd never even had sex before him, and now every second he's not touching me feels like absolute torture. That's not normal, right?"

She laughed. "I don't know, if it's not normal, it's at least fun. I'm the same way with Zen. I left to pick you up twenty minutes ago, and he's already texted me twice. I may not be the best person to ask what's normal when it comes to healthy relationship boundaries. I will tell you it works for us, and if it feels right, why fight it?"

Exhaling a shaky breath, I lifted my head and looked out the windshield. My body still tingled and felt overheated, but I was starting to get a little bit of control. "What are we eating?"

"Burgers?"

My mouth watered. "Ohmygod, yes."

"I know a great diner a couple miles away near the beach." She turned out into traffic.

Leaning my head back against the seat, I relaxed. "Sounds perfect."

A few minutes later, we pulled into the parking lot and stepped into a retro diner that looked like the decor was straight out of the 1950s. "Classic," I laughed.

"Hey, if you're going to do greasy American classics, you've gotta do them right." Kennedy tossed her purse across her body and led the way to a booth. We slid in, and the waitress passed us our menus.

"What are you getting?" She asked, her eyes scanning the laminated paper in front of her.

"A cheeseburger, fries, and a pineapple shake." I set my menu down and grabbed a sugar packet, moving it restlessly between my fingers.

"Mmm, that sounds amazing. Except I'm going with strawberry." We placed our orders, and when the waitress brought out our shakes, I decided it was time to get the heavy conversation started.

As Kennedy sipped on her drink, I started talking. "I need your advice about something."

She studied me for a second. "Sure, I'll try to help if I can."

"Last year, you went through so much with Zen and True sort of dropped a bomb on me yesterday, and I'm not sure what to do." I twisted my straw around in the frosty cup.

Her eyes darkened for a second before she shook her head. "Last year was rough, but we got through it. What's up with True?"

"He had a meeting with Harrison yesterday about publicity for the album."

"Oh, Thor. Harrison gets a little crazy sometimes with his helpful ideas." She rolled her eyes.

"Yeah, well, prepare yourself because he really outdid himself this time. He wants True to have a fake relationship in the press to help him get better name recognition." I tried not to let the irritation take root and instead took a big sip of the sweet-tart pineapple goodness in front of me.

She froze and narrowed her eyes. "Wait. What the actual fuck? Harrison knows he's with you and about the baby. What's he trying to do? I'll tell him exactly what I think about his shitty ideas." She reached into her purse and pulled out her phone, furiously swiping.

"Don't text him. He's just trying to do his job, even if his methods aren't great."

Kennedy groaned. "Come on, Am. Let me tell him off just a little. I'm pissed off for you. Why are you not more pissed off about this?"
