Rex grinned down the table at him. “Fair enough.”

With a smile on his face, Axle looked over at Skull. “Take it.”

“I’ll never deny a brother his Ol’ Lady,” Skull replied and looked to Score.

“You all know my vote.” He met Rex’s gaze and let the love he had for Rex shine through. “Aye.”

Zero nodded. “You got it, Brother.”

It jumped to the other side of the table, to Pike, and the other officers gave their votes. All around the table, he was given approval. The last one to vote was Top.

Top grinned at him and asked, “Did Doc give you permission to call this vote?”

Rex chuckled as he lifted his right hand slowly, because it still ached, and flipped him off, as the rest of the Howlers howled with laughter.

Since Dragon was a Dom, it didn’t surprise Rex when he leaned forward and stared their Chaplain down until he raised his hands in surrender. Top may be his club brother, but there was a certain level of respect that Dragon would automatically give Doc, and he wasn’t about to let anyone cross the line. Top was getting close.

Obviously recognizing he was facing a fight he didn’t want to have, Top returned his attention to Rex and continued, “You need her in your life, and I think she’ll make a great addition to the Ol’ Ladies. She had my vote months ago. Aye, Brother.”

Axle slammed his fist to the table again, and through his chuckle, declared, “Looks like our brother, Rex, has found his Ol’ Lady. Congrats.”

Rex gave a nod. “Thanks.”

He noticed Siren slide out of the seat next to him and head for the door, but he didn’t think anything of it. When the other members started laughing again, Rex followed their gazes and saw Siren pushing in a wheelchair.

“Doc’s orders,” Siren said with a chuckle.

“She didn’t,” he grumbled, praying that Doc did not actually order that they bring him a wheelchair.

Siren shook his head, but kept chuckling. “Just fucking with ya.”

Rex slowly rose from his chair and headed for the door in a shuffle. “You’re all assholes.”

“If this is news to you, we should probably get your memory checked,” Score replied as once again, he and Top flanked him.

When they reached the main room, Top suggested they have a seat. Rex glared at him, thinking he was being a smartass, but he dropped the glare when he saw the seriousness in Top’s eyes. Whatever reason he had for them to take a seat, it wasn’t a joke.

Rex gave a nod and shuffled over to the closest table. After the three of them were seated, he looked over at Top and asked, “What?”

Top took a deep breath and ran his fingers through the curls on the top of his head. “Uh… you know the hunter who Trick was watching?”

Rex nodded. “Messer. Yeah. She was there the day I was kidnapped, but she disappeared at one point.”

“She came here with the intention of giving us the information to find you. By the time she got here and talked to Axle, you were dropped off at Doc’s.”

“She’s here?” Rex tried to remember if he had been aware of that. For a bit after he was dropped at Doc’s, he had been in and out of it. It was possible he had known that, but he couldn’t be sure.

“Yeah, but… Long story short, Crush wanted to kill her, but she’s Trick’s mate. Axle pushed back. There was a vote. Both clubs voted to let her live, but we decided to keep a watch on her.” Top met his gaze. “I proxied your vote, since you weren’t in a position to make a decision. I told them you would vote to keep her alive.”

As angry as he was with the hunters, he wouldn’t want to take Trick’s mate’s life. If it was unavoidable, then okay, but that wasn’t the situation at hand.

“She didn’t touch either of us,” he told Top.

Top nodded.

“You were right. I would vote to not kill her.”

“Either way, we don’t like the idea of her being around the children until we’re sure she’s no longer a threat to them, so Trick is taking her away.”
