Thinking about her life and all the wonderful blessings she had acquired since coming to that little town in the upper peninsula of Michigan, she couldn’t help but smile.

She went from a familyless girl with no home to a woman with more brothers than she could count and a home she never wanted to leave. Who knew setting a car on fire could bring her a new life? If she had known that, she would have lit the match a long time ago.

Megan loved the tattoo that Arbor got for her. It wasKittenin bold script on his neck, but the letters were textured like the bark of a tree. It was the coolest thing she’d ever seen. She had to admit that there was something primal about the branding, something provocative that turned her on.

After an interesting conversation with Skull, Megan decided to continue the tradition of the Ol’ Ladies from the original chapter of the Howlers. They all got the Howlers logo on their bodies with their Ol’ Man’s name and something fun under them. She wanted to do the same, but she wanted to make it personal to their relationship.

An idea struck in her mind during her drive to the tattoo parlor. Grinning, she parked her car out in front of the small building, and was not at all surprised when the prospects Steal and Sly pulled up and parked behind her. They didn’t get off their bikes, but they killed the engine. She gave them a wave as she walked inside. Arbor didn’t want to crowd her, but he also didn’t want her unprotected.

The man behind the counter had black, silky looking hair that was long enough to hang down over his forehead a bit. His eyes were dark brown, almost black, but they twinkled as if he was in on a joke no one else was aware of. He was average height, but his frame was on the muscular side without looking like someone plugged him up to an air compressor and blew him up.

“Hi,” she said with a smile. “I’m Megan.”

“I know who you are. One of the Howlers snatched you up. You’re Arbor’s Kitten.”

“That I am.” She stepped up to the counter. “I have an idea. Are you familiar with the Howlers logo? If not, I can have one of the guys come in and show it to you.”

“I know what their colors look like, but a reference wouldn’t go unappreciated. What are we doing with it? And do you have permission to use it?”

“Skull, the VP from the mother chapter gave me permission,” she fibbed and shrugged, but she figured she could make the fib a reality if she needed to.

He eyed her for a moment, then he sighed and nodded. “Okay, but if that group of guys comes in here… Ah, fuck it. I’ll take the heat if it rolls my way. Can’t let you shoulder that.”

She giggled as she followed him back to a cubical near the back. “That was very Howler-esque.”

“Yeah? I heard they changed their ways. Glad to hear it’s true.”

Nodding, she took a seat in the chair in the center of the room. “Okay, so this is what I’m thinking…”

When she returned to the clubhouse, Megan found Arbor at a table in the bar area. With a smile on her face, she approached him and bent to kiss him.

“Hey, Kitten.” He caressed her cheek with his fingertips. “Missed you.”

“Missed you, too.” She gave him another kiss and straightened. “I did a thing.”

“I heard you went to the tat shop.”

She nodded and turned around. Pulling the bottom hem of her shirt up, she showed him the tattoo that she got in the center of her back. It was approximately four inches by four inches, and it consisted of the Howlers colors above the wordsArbor’s Rootswith tree roots coming from the bottom of the words.

The bar went silent as she waited for Arbor’s reaction. She started to get worried when the silence stretched out for more than a few moments, but then she felt the touch of his fingers as they framed the tat on her back.

“Kitten,” he said softly, before he pressed his lips to her skin right above the ink.

“You like it?”

“I fucking love it.”

She glanced at him over her shoulder. “So whatcha gonna do about it?”

His eyes flashed that blue light, right before she was in his arms, and he was striding out of the clubhouse to the soundtrack of his brother’s cheers.
