Paul coughs and walks away.

I stop by another door. "What's behind here?"

Nick's smile gets even more prominent. "It's an extra sizable storage space with an extra refrigerator."

I rush inside and let out a loud ahh sound when I walk in and perceive the enormous storage space. My hands glide over the smooth material of the cabinets. I'm so overwhelmed, but it's what I dreamed of when I thought about my dream kitchen for my business. In this place, I can bake many cakes, cookies, and pies without worrying about where to store them. When Nick shows up behind me, I pivot on my feet and smash my lips on his. He returns my kiss, and when I pull away, I gaze into his eyes.

"Thank you. This is everything and more. But I'll pay you back."

He frowns. "That's unnecessary. Investing in businesses I believe in is my daily work. And I one hundred percent believe in this sweet one. Now you can do what you love from your new home. I want you and Charlotte to move in with me, Emma."

My lips curl into a broad smile. "Why are you this perfect?" I say, stroking his chiseled cheek.

He smirks. "Oh, don't forget, my Angel. This project is selfish."

I raise a brow.

"Because now," he says, brushing a finger along my cheek, "I have you nearby. So when I need my angel fix, I can simply walk out of my office and come here to get what I need."

He snakes his arms around my waist, and with his lips inches from mine, he whispers, "This isn't me being sweet. This is me being purely selfish."

"Oh, I find selfish Nick attractive. Does it mean you're going to work more from home?"

"Yes, I'll keep my office space in town, but my head office will be here at home. So I can be near you, Charlotte, and this little one." His hands slide over my belly.

"And this way, I can indulge you and your clients with my sweet treats."

"That sounds perfect. Let's go so the men can finish this project."

"Excellent idea. But promise me one thing, Nick Brown."

His eyes inspect mine with caution. "What?"

"No more surprises," I let out while placing one hand on my hips and pointing my index finger at him. "My brain can't endure more of these grand gestures of yours."

"Hm, there might be one more surprise. But that has to do with Charlotte's birthday, and I'll need your permission for that one."

I narrow my eyes and inspect the mysterious grin on his face. What is he planning in that brilliant head of his?

"Fine, Nickolas Brown. But after that, you'll stop showering me with gifts until this baby has arrived." I place a kiss on his cheek.

"I'll do my best," he answers with a smile dangling on the corner of his lips. He snakes his arm around my waist. "Now come, my angel. Let's tell my parents and Charlotte the wonderful news of our engagement."

He takes my hand, and after we thank Paul and the others that have built my dream kitchen and storage room, we leave. God, life is good. I don't know what can top this.
