He got up from his desk, walked over to the liquor cabinet, and poured himself a glass of Jack. The first mouthful took him instantly to that inn. That bed.

Sucking Butch’s dick.

Claiming Butch’s lips.

“Sol? Want me to call back at some other time?”

He returned to his desk and scrolled back to Butch’s photo. “It’s just that… well… I have a kind of dilemma.”

“Tell me about it. Maybe I can help.”

He smiled. “I appreciate the thought, but I don’t think you can.”

“Try me.”

Why not? A problem shared, right?

He took another drink. “I got an invite to go back to the ranch, but it would be a different kind of week. My friend who helps run the place is offering a new kind of experience. For one thing, there’d be no horses involved.”Unless someone comes who likes a little horse play.It wasn’t beyond the realm of possibility. Not that he was about to sharethat.

“Thisexperience… Might it have anything to do with that stuff we don’t talk about but which I’m totally aware of?”

He laughed. “It might.”

“Okay. What’s stopping you?”

He sighed. “Last week at the dude ranch, I ran into someone I knew from high school.”

“Oh wow.” There was a pause. “Not wow?”

“The thing is… we share some baggage, okay?”

“Okay.”

“And today I realized I might be able to relieve him of some of that baggage.”

“Then what’s the problem? Do it.”

He sagged into his high-backed chair. “It’s more complicated than that.”

Another pause. “I have to be honest here… I’m not seeing the dilemma.”

Sol wasn’t sure he was either.

“So… this high school friend…”

“What about him?”

“Is he also part of this whole other world we don’t discuss apart from that one time?”

Sol chuckled. “Alli… you can say BDSM, you know? The words won’t kill you.”

“Okay—is he?”

“No.”

“And does he knowyouare?”

“No.”
