Sol: Still hard?

Butch: SOL.

Chapter 39

Sunday, September 18

Matt cleared the dishes after supper, and Zeeb dropped a pack of cards onto the table.

“Poker, anyone? We’re playing for Skittles, not money.”

Walt laughed. “Skittles? Really?”

Zeeb held the bag up and shook it. “Yup. Wanna taste the rainbow?”

“Sure. Count me in.”

It wasn’t long before all four guests and most of the hands were squeezed around the table. Butch grabbed his hat and phone, and headed for the door.

Zeeb peered at Butch. “You not gonna join us?”

“Nope. I’m gonna take a stroll and watch the sunset.” When all eyes focused on the cards, he picked up a flashlight too, shoving it under his jacket when Zeeb glanced at him again.

“You don’t fool me none, y’know.”

Butch feigned ignorance. “What you talking about?”

Zeeb hooked his fingers in the air. “‘Watch the sunset’? You gonna take pictures of it too? That why you need your phone?”

“Is there a law against it?”

Zeeb cackled. “Nope. But I think your little evening stroll has less to do with observing nature and more to do with calling or messaging someone. Now, who that someone is, I don’t have a clue, but you’ve been messaging them at all hours of the day and night, so Iammighty curious.”

“You know what curiosity did, right?”

“So you’re not gonna tell me?”

Butch snorted. “Got it in one.” He left them to their game and stepped outside. Fall was definitely in the air: the temperature had dropped to maybe the low sixties. He stood for a moment to observe the changing colors in the sky, then took a photo. He grinned.

There ya go, Zeeb. Communing with nature.

He walked briskly toward the old barn. It would be private: no one was likely to walk in on him, not when they were all occupied with a game of cards. Once he was inside, he closed the door and switched the flashlight on. It wouldn’t be long before daylight faded into twilight, and the barn was dark enough even on sunny days.

He’d woken up that morning hard as usual, but with something else—a buzz of anticipation that was almost intoxicating. He enjoyed the feeling of being horny, more aroused than he’d ever been, because all his senses told him his patience was about to pay off. He couldn’t wait to experience the sexual high that awaited him.

The week had taught him a surprising lesson, one he wasn’t sure he wanted to share with Sol. Yes, it had been an exercise in self-control, but as time passed, the more the idea of Sol directing him not to jerk off, not to come, turned him on. The thought of seeing Sol’s expression as he watched what was certain to be an explosive orgasm had made him hard to the point of aching.

His phone buzzed in his pocket, and he took it out to look at the screen.

Ready this end.

Butch had been ready three days ago.

He hit Call, and Sol’s warm voice filled his ears.

“You made it.”

“Let’s do this.” He rubbed his crotch, his cock pointing toward his hip.
