“What the fuck was that for?”

I kept moving, closing the distance between us until we were chest to chest. My voice was low. “Because you deserve it. God, Vaughn, you are such a prick.”

“What did I do now?”

Behind me, at the doorway of the clubhouse, the jeering laughter of a couple of the guys floated back to us. “No fights on the TV today so Vaughn and Kian are filling in! Money on Kian.”

I ignored them, but Vaughn’s gaze drifted in that direction.

I shook my head. “That, Vaughn. You’re always so worried about what other people think. How about you look at me instead?”

He dragged his eyes back to mine. “I don’t care what they think.”

“Bullshit,” I threw back at him. “Them. Your dad’s business partner. Your parents. Rebel. Everyone but me.”

The words, even though they’d come from my own mouth, hit me hard.

They were laced with hurt.

The pain of being the one left behind while he went off and married someone else.

I couldn’t do this with him again. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, I was just a dumb idiot.

I pushed away and went for the passenger side of the car. “Forget it. Let’s just go.”

“Kian.”

I lifted the door handle, but it didn’t open.

I waited for him to unlock the door, steadfastly ignoring him standing there, not making any attempt to do so. He just watched me.

I sighed. “What?”

His eyes burned through me. “Undo your fly.”

I turned around and tried the door again, which was as useless as the first time I’d done it, since Vaughn hadn’t even made a move toward his keys. “Fuck off, Vaughn. Let’s just go.”

“Undo your fly.”

I glanced over at him. “Why?”

He slowly dropped to his knees in front of me.

Up by the clubhouse, a whoop of cheers went up.

I snorted, glancing up at them gathered in their folding chairs, now all pointed in our direction. Aloha was there with Ice and Ratchet. Hawk stood off to one side with his arms crossed. Queenie and Kiki giggled together.

“There’s an entire clubhouse full of people up there. Get up.”

He did. He pushed to his feet, while the others booed.

But he never stopped looking at me, his eyes burning. Not for a second did he turn away, and eventually, neither could I. Everyone else faded away, and all that was left was me, Vaughn, and the heat in his eyes.

A deep rumble rose through his chest. “I’m looking at you and telling you I don’t care what they think. Maybe I didn’t want to hold hands, but I just got down on my knees in front of all of them, and you rejected me.” He leaned in close so his lips barely hovered over mine. “You rejected me, Kian. I’m well aware I’m not perfect. I’m not into public displays of affection like you are. And yeah, sure, maybe I don’t need everyone knowing we’re fucking. But if you do? If you fucking care that much, then tell me to get down on my knees and suck your cock. Because there’s nothing I’d rather do right now than make you come, all those people up there be fucking damned.”

He was full of shit. Playing me. But my dick kicked at the thought of him doing that with an audience. And fuck him. Two could play at that game.

I inched in closer, lips scraping his. I trailed them up his stubbled jaw and licked a path along his neck until I got to his ear. He was groaning when I whispered, “Get on your knees and take my cock, Vaughn.”
