“What are we supposed to do with these ones?”

I shrugged, hand on the doorknob. “Whatever the fuck you want until the truck gets here.”

Heat flashed in Frank’s eyes. “Anythingwe want?”

I chuckled. “Anything except kill them.”

I slipped out of the door as the screams started up again.

It filled my ears. Stoked my blood. But it was Bethany-Melissa I wanted to hear scream the loudest.

My chest throbbed, the scars where her boyfriend had cut into my skin a reminder of what she’d done.

Hurting her friend wasn’t enough.

I needed more. She was just giving me the opportunity to deliver.

“Come out, come out, wherever you are,” I called into the darkness of the worksite. “Let’s talk about this rationally, shall we?”

Nothing but silence and the sound of my boots crunching over dirt and gravel filtered back to me.

I walked carefully, scanning the darkness, my dick stiffening with the thrill of the hunt. My breath came in short pants, hard to control. Blood rushed in my ears.

Fucking stupid bitches.

Punishing them was going to be so sweet. Luca wasn’t expecting the two of them. The Sinners had rounded up enough to meet my quota, and so they should have, after they lost the first lot.

Bethany-Melissa and her mouthy bestie were just a sweet bonus that got me hot under the collar.

Maybe I’d keep them for a little while.

Play with them the way their men had tried to play with me.

I rubbed my hand over my cock, knowing it needed this. Needed their fight, and then their submission when they realized who the fuck I was.

I wasn’t just some dumb kid who didn’t know what he was doing. I’d spent years now, aligning myself with powerful men who understood what it took to get to the top. I wasn’t going to fail now, when I was this close to showing my father who I was.

That I was as capable as he was.

That I didn’t need a woman to help me get there.

I ground my molars, feeling that familiar surge of uselessness I always felt when I thought about my father.

I fucking hated it.

I fucking hated him.

I switched on the flashlight function on my phone, shining it around, illuminating the work trucks and excavators. “Tick-tock. I’m getting annoyed, Rebel. I know this was your idea. Bethany-Melissa wouldn’t have the balls.”

I paused and listened.

Something moved in the darkness to my right, and I spun around.

A black cat ran for its life across the worksite. I followed it, my flashlight bouncing over another shape, hidden in the darkness

I chuckled to myself. “Run, pussycat. Run. Watch the holes. You wouldn’t want to fall in there and snap your neck…”

The figure didn’t move. I couldn’t get over how stupid women were. “You aren’t even going to run? Seriously? Come on, Rebel. At least make me work for it.”
