I moved the chute a little so the cement hit him square in the face.

I hoped Vincent was right.

I hoped it burned like the flames of Hell. Because that was where he was going.

Caleb sank beneath the concrete, his gaping mouth the last thing to disappear, filled with fiery concrete.

It was a long moment before anybody spoke. The eight of us stood there, staring at the hole we’d used to suffocate a man.

“Do you think he’s dead yet?” Kian asked.

I stared at the spot where Caleb had disappeared. “I hope not. I hope he’s under there, suffering.”

“Hear! Hear!” War shook his head. “That was long overdue.”

Rebel stepped back from the edge of the pit and turned to Vincent. “Sorry you didn’t get a chance to torture him some more first.”

Vincent’s eyes gleamed in the darkness, like a demon straight out of a horror movie. “You did a very thorough job of torturing him all by yourself. I’ve never thought of drowning someone in cement. I enjoyed that.”

Mental note to self, never get on Vincent’s bad side. Jesus fuck.

I tugged Rebel to my chest, smoothing my hand down her back. “You did good, Roach. It’s done.”

She nodded into my chest. A tremble worked its way through her body.

I lowered my voice to a whisper only she would hear. “It’s okay if you’re not okay.”

She pulled away and looked up at me with watery eyes.

Fuck. Even though it was well deserved, it was still a lot to kill a man in the way she just had.

But then she turned to the pit and stuck her middle finger up. “Fuck you, you piece of shit. I hope you fucking rot in Hell.”

Bliss let out a bitter laugh. “Ditto.” She ran a hand over her belly and focused on Nash. “Can you take me home, please? I don’t want to be here when…” She turned big eyes on Vincent.

He nodded, his expression serious and matter of fact. “All of you should leave. Let me handle the body. It’s what I’m best at. War, I’ll need one or two of your guys to stay behind and get this concrete out so there’s no questions in the morning.”

“I’ll stay,” Fang offered.

But War shook his head. “Not you, brother. You need to be with your family tonight.”

Fang nodded and thanked him.

The two of us flanked Rebel, herding her toward Kian’s truck. We had her halfway into the back seat before she lifted her head and looked over at the worksite shed.

“The other women…”

“Let the club deal with it, Pix. The women will all be returned to their homes. Tonight, you’re the only one we need to worry about.” He swallowed thickly. “You and the baby.”

Her mouth dropped open. “You know?”

“We found your pregnancy test in the bathroom trash can.” I pulled her seat belt on for her and clicked it into place, adjusting the bottom strap low over the tops of her thighs so it wasn’t pressing on her belly. I traced my fingers absently over her abdomen.

She caught them. “Are you okay with it?”
