There’s no hiding my smile now. “I’m still thinking about it.”

“I’m texting Emerson,” Garrett says with a smug grin.

“You have to take it, E,” Drake replies from where he’s standing behind Hunter, his hand resting on the back of his chair. “We need you around here.”

“We should throw a party,” Garrett says before I can respond to Drake.

“A party?” I ask.

“Fuck yeah.”

“The anniversary party,” Hunter replies. “Three years on the seventeenth. We’ll celebrate the club and Eden’s new position.”

“We’ll open the VIP level to everyone for the night,” Garrett adds. “Waive all the room rental fees. I know Mia can fill up the voyeur rooms for a massive performance like we did before.”

The energy in the room is electric. The guys are going back and forth, talking about big plans for the party and ways to draw in more members.

To my surprise, I love it.

For so long, I’ve felt like a bit of an outsider with them. Yes, I’ve been here for years. And yes, I’ve always been welcome and appreciated, but I never felt likeone of them. Even when they gave me a room to run my business out of. I wasn’t an owner or a founder. I don’t get invited to their private parties and get-togethers.

And I’m not that petty or desperate. But I love the idea of being in the room where decisions are made. I like the idea of that office, even if I don’t plan on using it.

“You’re taking it?” Emerson’s voice from behind me jolts me from my quiet thoughts.

“I thought you guys worked from home,” I say with exasperation when Emerson Grant enters the room.

The other men in the office go silent as I stand from my chair and turn to him. He’s wearing an expression of hope as he waits for my response.

“You’ll take the job?” he asks again.

I swallow.

“If Salacious needs me…I’m here. Yes. Of course.”

His face splits into a proud grin as he puts out a hand for me to shake.

“I’m so glad,” he says.

The men behind me start speaking excitedly again as I stare at Emerson. I’m hit with a sudden flurry of emotions.

Right after Ronan, Emerson is the one person who helped to give me a new start—and he doesn’t even know. Emerson Grant took a chance on me. He saw something in me no one else did.

I wish I could tell him how much that means to me.

Then a harrowing thought comes crashing in my mind. I’ll need to tell them about Jack. I’ll need to tell them I’ve been keeping this secret from them for years.

One thing at a time, I tell myself, quickly calming my rising anxiety.

For now, I can celebrate. I just took a huge position at the greatest sex club in the country.

And the only thing I want to do at the moment is tell the two people who mean the most to me.

Rule #39: Sometimes, it’s okay to lose control.

When I got the text from Eden that she wanted to celebrate something at the club tonight, I knew that meant it was going to be a good night. Things feel different now. We’re at the club, but I still feel as if Eden is really ours. It feels like the best of both worlds.
