She affected him—allof him.

“She’s dancing with Eric now?”

The casual observation came from Daniel. Beau looked over at the other man and nodded. “Is that his name?”

“Yeah. Eric Franklin.”

“Nice guy?”

Daniel shrugged. “Sure.”

“Okay.” Beau lifted his glass of whiskey for a sip.

“Thought you were here because you didn’t want her with anyone else,” Daniel said.

Beau looked over again. “She’s notwithanyone else. She’s dancing. She’s feeling beautiful and realizing she has admirers. She’s having fun and smiling, and her cheeks are a little pink.”

Daniel narrowed his eyes, then looked out at the dance floor. “That doesn’t bother you?”

“That Becca is happy and feeling appreciated?” Beau shook his head. “Of course not.”

“That other men are making her feel beautiful and appreciated?”

Beau turned and set his glass on the bar, then pinned Daniel with a direct gaze. He hoped that Daniel would repeat this to Savannah and Toby. “The things I make Becca feel are a bit… different from what those guys are making her feel.”

The corner of Daniel’s mouth curled up. “Is that right?”

“Yeah, very.”

“How so?”

“Why don’t you watch us dance and see if you can tell the difference?”

Daniel looked back out to where Becca and Eric were just finishing their dance.

Beau picked up his glass, tossed back the rest of his whiskey, then set it down with athunk. He gave Daniel a wink, before crossing the dance floor.

“My turn,” he said as yet another man approached her.

Becca smiled up at him, and sure enough, her grin was much wider for him than her previous partners. “Good.”

The other guy turned on his heel and went back to the tables without saying a word.

Beau gathered her close. His hand splayed wide across her lower back, and he pulled her up against his body fully. Her breath hitched, and her eyes widened.

“Arms around my neck, Bec,” he said gruffly.

His other hand settled on the bare skin between her shoulder blades.

“Who are we showing off for?”

He leaned in, putting his lips against her ear. “Everybody.”

She nodded. “Okay. What are we showing off exactly?”

“How you dancing with me is different than how you dance with everyone else.”

They started swaying. “And how is me dancing with you different?”
