Well, she was definitely ready to go upstairs now. “Yeah. For sure.”

“Just like that?”

“Yep.”

“You’re ready to leave the party that you needed me to come to so that you wouldn’t have to leave—”

“Hey Beau?” she interrupted.

“Yeah?”

“Why don’t you go get some cake and I’ll meet you back down here once I get my stuff and change my clothes?”

“I’ll just go up with you.”

“No!” She said it way too quickly and emphatically, she knew.

“No?” He looked confused. “Why not?”

“Because…you said we can’t be in the hotel room together alone.”

“Overnight. I can probably control myself for ten minutes while you pack.”

Yeah, well, this might take longer than ten minutes. Though not much. “Just…let me go alone.”

He frowned and took her elbow. “Are you sick?”

“No.”

“Then why can’t I go up with you?”

“I just need to be alone.”

His frown intensified. Then his eyes dropped to her stomach. “Oh.”

Now she frowned. “Oh?”

“Do you need…privacy?”

“Yes.”

“Got it. No need to be embarrassed.”

She leaned in. “What are you talking about?”

“If you need the bathroom…”

Her eyebrows arched. She should really just let him think she suddenly needed to rush to the bathroom because of something she’d eaten. But she couldn’t.

“I don’t need the bathroom,” she snapped. “I need my vibrator.”

His mouth fell open. Then snapped shut. Then fell open again.

She pulled her elbow from his grip. “I’ll be back in…a little bit.” She took two steps. Then felt his hand on her arm again. She turned back.

“Your vibrator?”

She smirked at his stunned expression. “Yeah.”
