“Not fast enough.” I punched my chest over my heart. “I can feel it. She’s holding back something big, Micah. Fuck. Jigsaw.”

I still called him both names, depending on the moment.

He snorted. “Calm your tits.”

“I would if my woman didn’t keep disappearing and keeping shit from both of us.”

“Fuck. I know, okay?”

Heather had left on numerous occasions, sometimes for weeks at a time. We didn’t know what the fuck was happening with her. She grew up around the club and knew the members too well, which meant she could easily give us the slip whenever she wanted. Not a single prospect had been able to find her either. It was always me or Micah that ended up chasing her down.

Macon Sturges ordered us to figure it out, but we weren’t making any progress.

“I’ve got watch tonight. Take the evening off. Go play with Georgia.”

“Fuck off,” I hissed, ready to kick his ass for that statement. “You know I’m not fucking her.”

He shrugged. “So you say.” His smile vanished. “You better not be cheating on my cousin.”

“Are you fucking serious right now?”

“It had to be said. The whole club thinks she’s sucking you off every night. She isn’t doing you any favors since she won’t deny it.”

“What the fuck, bro.”

“She told Twitchy about your dick.”

“She hasn’t seen my cock,” I growled.

“Good.”

Ever since Twitchy, one of the Royal Harlots MC members, hooked up with Bones, the newest patch into the Tonopah Chapter, we saw Harlots all the damn time. They partied with the Royal Bastards nearly every month. One of Twitchy’s best friends, Georgia, a blonde bombshell with curves that would have snared my attention if I wasn’t already taken, claimed I was her fuck boy.

Like that didn’t complicate shit more than I needed.

“Don’t look now, but here comes Georgia.”

Shit. I spun around as Georgia sauntered my way, popping out a hip as she stopped a few feet away.

“Lookin’ a little lonely, Spook.”

“Hey, Georgia.”

“Need some company?”

“Uh, no.”

Jigsaw snickered.

Like the best friend that I was, I flipped him off.

He laughed harder.

“I’m going to bed,” I announced as I marched toward the entrance to The Crossroads, heading inside as I ignored the pretty blonde following me around.

Wouldn’t you know it? Heather was inside, sitting at the bar in a tight black dress, nursing a shot of whiskey as she laughed at one of Exorcist’s jokes.

No fucking way.
