Stacey’s face warmed, and her pulse sped up just thinking of last night. She beamed. “It was amazing. No, it was more than amazing. It was…”

“Life altering, and a relationship in the making?” Elizabeth filled in for her.

Stacey felt her face heat up and a smile broke out across her face. “Yes, exactly.”

Elizabeth let out a squeal that could wake the dead and ran around the counter to engulf her in a hug. “Here’s your bags. You have another amazing night. You so deserve it. And remember, love isn’t always bad.” She squeezed her arms.

Stacey lifted her brows. “Thanks. I’ll see ya later.”

It was almost five. Stacey stood in her bedroom. The lights were dimmed, and the four pillar candles were ready to be lit. The rose and lavender scent filled the air with a light crispness.

She turned to her reflection in her full-length mirror and smirked at what she saw. She was wearing a black lace bralette, double-layered crop top and a tiny and tight cut-off jean skirt, which sat low on her hips. She had her long brown hair pinned up in a messy bun, with some strands loose around her face, very little makeup and just a tiny bit of eyeshadow and mascara. She finished her look with colored lip gloss just as a knock sounded on the kitchen door.

She took a deep breath and paused before she opened it.

Tristan looked amazing. The t-shirt he wore was a dark smoky gray and brought out his eyes. His hair was perfectly messed up, and his shirt was tucked into his tight jeans, which fit snugly in all the right places.

He was checking her out also, and she could tell he liked what he saw. The smoldering look he gave her made her weak in the knees, and she could feel her body warming. She swallowed down the lump in her throat. “Hey.” She stepped sideways, giving him room to enter her kitchen.

The bags in his hands smelled amazingly like Chinese. “Hey, back.” He walked right in, not even bothering to give her a hello kiss.

She closed the door as he laid the bags on the counter. “You…” She didn’t get to finish her protest as he grabbed her and devoured her mouth.

This kiss was hotter and sexier than any before. Their lips pressed together like if they parted, they would be gone from each other forever.

Tristan backed away. “You were going to say something?”

“Yeah.” She was disoriented and couldn’t think. She shook her head. “Doesn’t matter. I don’t remember.” She touched his cheek. “I’ve been thinking about you all day.”

“Really?” He asked.

She nodded and placed another kiss on his lips. This is where I belong. This is right.Stacey’s eyes fluttered open.

There was a gleam in his eyes. “I’ve missed you.” His voice was hoarse. He separated enough to look at her. “When you opened the door in this, I couldn’t…”

“Then don’t.” She stopped his words and devoured him, pulling his shirt from his jeans.

They didn’t stop their hands from feeling and groping.

He pulled away again, and she thought she was going to die. “Where’s your brother?”

Stacey tried to catch her breath. “He won’t be here tonight. They’re at Kristen’s.”

“So, no one’s here but us?”

She nodded. “All night.”

She felt his eyes rove from her head to her feet, then back again. His eyes burned into hers. “Then there’s no rush. As much as I’d love to take you right here on the kitchen counter, I’d rather wait till I can enjoy every bit of you.” He kissed her gently. Then grinned. “I’m starving. Let’s eat while the food is still hot. Like you.”

Her mouth dropped, and she studied the counter. “The counter sounds good to me.”

He chuckled and handed her some chopsticks. She let out a loud breath.

They ate their Chinese food at the kitchen table. They sat next to each other and ate out of the many cardboard boxes filled with rice, noodles, dumplings, beef and broccoli, chicken and mixed vegetables. There was more food than both of them could ever eat in one sitting.

Every now and again, they fed each other with their chopsticks.

Stacey’s eyes kept flicking back to the counter.
