The movement of the mattress woke Stacey early the next morning. She slowly rolled over, and the view of Tristan sitting on the edge of the bed naked revived her sleepy body. “Good morning. Where are you going?” she mumbled and reached out to touch his bare back.

He turned and leaned down to kiss her. “I didn’t want to wake you. It’s seven-thirty. I was going to hop in the shower. I need to get to work.”

She smiled sleepily. “Mmm. I need a shower.”

He laughed. “As amazing as that sounds, I have got to get to work. I’m gonna be late. If you hop in with me, I will be late.”

He kissed her again. “Can I come back later? I get off at five. I’ll bring dinner.”

“I’ll be right here, waiting for you.” She kissed his lower chest, as that was what was there, and continued, traveling her kisses down.

“Woman, please.” He stood up and walked toward her bathroom.

Stacey sighed and rolled over. She was tempted to climb in the shower with him anyway, but knew he needed to go, so she wrapped the covers tightly around her and rolled over. She was soon dreaming of his amazing body and his kisses traveling all over her.

“Hey. What brings you in here?” Elizabeth stopped stocking shelves at Main Street Boutique and greeted Stacey.

“Trust me, I shouldn’t be, but I was out running errands, and thought I’d just look around.” Stacey gave her a hug. “I need some pillar candles. Do you have any with a light rose or lavender scent?”

Elizabeth led her to the candle section. Stacey smelled a bunch of them and decided on four beige candles which smelled amazing. She grabbed candle holders, gold with pearl. These will add a bit of romance to her room tonight.

She took her time getting to the checkout counter, picking up a light scented body spray on her way past. Stacey felt Elizabeth watching her.

“What are you planning?” asked Elizabeth inquisitively.

“Well, just preparing for a little romantic rendezvous tonight. Nothing exciting.”

“You’re kidding!” Elizabeth’s mouth dropped. “I thought you didn’t do relationships.”

Stacey rolled her eyes. “Who said anything about a relationship? You can be attracted to someone and have fun in bed without a relationship.”

“Really?”

Stacey looked away. “Yeah, it is possible.”It might be possible, but not with Tristan. She thought of last night. Her mouth ticked up.

“You’re right. It is possible, but I’ve heard how you talk about him, and from what Kristen says…”

Stacey reached out and grabbed her arm. “You’ve talked to Kristen? When?”

Elizabeth chuckled and pulled gently from Stacey’s grasp. “Yes, she stopped in earlier and told me all about the dinner date and movie night at your house last night.” Stacey felt her neck warm.

“She also said something about an additional car in the driveway this morning.”

There was now no warmth. She knew she turned red.

Elizabeth laughed. “You know, from what I remember, he’s a good-looking guy. He seems like he’s sweet, and from what you’ve said, perfect. It’s okay to like him. He seems to like you quite a bit.”

A stupid grin filled Stacey’s face. “True. He is all those things. And he wants a relationship. He said so last night.”

“Girl! Great! What did you say?”

Stacey covered her face with her hands. “I tried to say yes, but instead, I asked him to stay the night.” She peeked at Elizabeth through her fingers.

Elizabeth’s face lit up. “It’s a start.”

Stacey straightened and bit her bottom lip.

Elizabeth put all of Stacey’s purchases in a bag and told her the total. A customer walked in, so she lowered her voice to a whisper. “So, how was it?”
