“Are you.. are youlaughing,” Kian teased, nuzzling her neck with his scratchy jaw. “Are you laughing at me for sealing the mate bond with you? Do you not take your bond seriously?”

She shrieked with laughter as he tickled her with his hot breath and stubbly face.

“Is it bad to laugh?” she whispered when he abandoned her neck to roll onto his back, pulling her on top of his chest.

“I think it’s probably just what I need,” he admitted with a half-smile.

“My grumpy dragon warrior,” she teased, kissing his chin.

“It’s funny,” he said.

“What’s funny?”

“I don’t feel all that grumpy anymore,” he teased, grinning up at her.

She meant to tease him back, but a sudden pang of insistent lust had her gasping in a breath instead.

“Are you okay?” he asked her, concern marring his handsome face.

“I… I need…”

But she seemed to have lost her power of speech, so she showed him instead, moving her slippery sex over his rigid organ.

“Oh, gods, Kinsley,” he rasped, gripping her hips in his hands, and guiding her.

Her last thought before she lost herself to the frenzy once more was that she had to be the luckiest woman in the world.

KIAN

Kinsley smoothed her gown over her hips again, and smiled at little Nova, who was predictably asleep in her arms.

The little one was awake more often these days, but it was still the rare occasion when she opened her eyes after the sun went down.

Kinsley knew she should be grateful. After all, she and Kian had retrieved their daughter the moment the frenzy released them from the constant demands of the mate bond.

But it was still difficult to wait until the little one was sleeping sometimes. She often caught Kian gazing up at the sun, as if willing it to go down.

And the moment they were alone, he was all over her. Were it not for her infertility, they would surely have given Nova a little sibling right away.

As things were, Kian was preparing to apply to the Invicta to see if it might be possible for them to adopt another Imberian baby next year. Kinsley had cried happy tears when he asked her if it was something that she would like.

The idea of Nova having a sibling as a playmate and confidante was the most wonderful thing in the world.

“This looks amazing,” Kian whispered to her.

He placed his big hand at the small of her back, which never failed to send a delicious shiver down her spine.

Besides, he was so handsome tonight.

She scanned the community center, hardly believing the transformation she saw. Making it look elegant had been hard work, but it was for a good cause.

The mineworkers of Sigg-3 were back on their feet now. With the aid packages to sustain them, and Avril volunteering her services as private security, they could focus on their rights.

And it turned out their rights were substantial. The island that broke off during the big fight with the sheriff uncovered a sizable Bhimanium deposit.

By law, the miners owned a large portion of the mining rights of Sigg-3, having occupied the area solely and without contest for three consecutive standard years.
