“And what’s more beautiful than your woman wanting you?” He dips his head, kisses me, breaking the contact too soon, leaving me gasping. “A woman giving into desire?”

A sob catches in my throat. “Taj…”

“It will be all right. We will be there.”

That’s reassuring, but… “Why do we have to wait for that? I want you now.”

“You’ll need your entire harem, kora, your entire clan.”

“So I can’t have sex until then? I’ll frigging die of need.”

He chuckles, a warm dark trickle of a sound. “I didn’t say that. You’ll need your entire clan when you go into heat. That doesn’t mean you can’t have sex before. It just… won’t satisfy you the way you think it will.”

“Why not?” My voice is a needy whine and I hate it.

But he grins again. “Because that’s the way it is, kitten. Unless you can conceive, the pain in you won’t go away.”

“But—”

“I’m telling you, I’m going into this with my eyes wide open. I know how it all works. Trust me?”

I press myself to him. “Taj—”

Just then, Finnen turns back around and wraps himself around me with a small grunt, making me squawk in surprise, something long and hard pressing into the small of my back. “Ari,” he breathes, still asleep.

Taj starts laughing quietly, rolling onto his back and throwing an arm over his eyes. “Not only is he cockblocked, he’s cockblocking the rest of us. Unbelievable, that priest.”

I start laughing, too. Despite the pain of need in my belly, it’s strangely cute and heartwarming that Finnen is holding me like that in his sleep, exciting that he’s dreaming of me and wants me even in his sleep.

Kiaran turns his head to stare at us, a dark shape in the night, outline silvered by the light of the crescent moon, his tangled pale locks a bright white. “Okay?” he asks.

It calms me down. I reach a hand out to him. “Join us, Kia. Come lie down with us.”

“I can keep watch.” Taj sits up, rubs his eyes. “You should get some rest, Kiaran.”

Kiaran doesn’t move from the spot, gazing at him.

“Did you understand what I said?” Taj gets up, unfolding his long body. “Come lie down—”

“I understand.” My Wildman shakes his head. “I keep watch. You do as you like.”

“You don’t trust me to keep us safe, huh?” Taj ambles over to Kiaran and sits down beside him. “Fess up.”

Kiaran huffs and it’s frigging cute. He so obviously doesn’t feel the need to reply.

I watch my two men sitting side by side, while Finnen clutches me to his chest, murmuring dream words in my ear, his breath warm on my neck. I watch as Kiaran unabashedly stares at Taj, gaze moving from his head to his chest, his crotch, his legs. Of my three men, he seems to be the least inhibited. He has no barriers, no moral boundaries hammered into him by society. He wants us and doesn’t seem to care that it’s obvious.

Taj returns the interested look, though he seems more bemused than anything else. Bemused and thoughtful, giving Kiaran a once-over that seems to dig beyond the surface. Appraising. Assessing. But also appreciative, I think, when he shifts on the ground and pushes a hand between his legs, probably to give his hard-on some relief.

His hard-on that I caused or a new one, caused by the handsome Wildman sitting beside him?

There’s so much to find out, to explore. I just hope we get the time and that no jaguar and no army come after us in our sleep.

KIARAN

Taj sits down beside me. He has dark hair and pale eyes and he has a hardness about him, a toughness speaking of rough times. His mouth moves a lot, smiling, grinning, smirking. I can’t tell if it’s real. You smile when you’re happy and relaxed.
