“There’s a glass of water and your tablets there because I don’t know what time you need to take them and it’s stupid o’clock now. I don’t want you missing them.”

Her eyes popped open, her brown eyes blazing with something I couldn’t read.

“It’s nice to have someone take care of me. I feel like I’ve been on my own forever.” A tear rolled down the side of her face.

Wiping it away with my thumb, I smiled. “You’re not on your own now. Not ever again.”

She sat up, the sheet slipping, her hair tumbling over her breasts. The sight of her, exposed and vulnerable just for me, made my cock leap back to life.

“Were you really always this hard for me?” she giggled.

“I have no control over my body or my heart around you, Ionee Millar, and I won’t ever apologize for it.”

“Good.”

“Now come here while I do those buttons up and get you back in shorts before my hard on gets me into trouble.”

Ionee

We’dfallenasleepholdinghands but on separate sides of the bed. Relaxed and sated, I had the deepest, best sleep I’d had since my operation. When I woke, it looked as if I’d climbed Archer like a tree in the night, my body wrapped around his like he was the only thing I needed to survive. It felt like I belonged there, but being there freaked me out.

He must have felt me stir, tightening his arm around my waist before I could move and then opening one eye. “Hey, you. You comfy there?” He smiled and any worry or embarrassment I might have felt vanished.

“Very,” I replied, shamelessly pressing my head to his chest.

“Hey, you won’t hear any complaints from me, but I don’t want you to feel rushed into anything.”

“My subconscious made me cuddle into you. I’m going to trust she knows exactly what she’s doing.”

Archer glanced at his watch and groaned. “As much as I hate to say this, we need to get up. We have to be on the tour bus in an hour. Do you want to shower and I’ll order us some breakfast? You want coffee? Omelet?”

“Coffee and toast would be perfect. It takes a while for my anti-sickness tablets to kick in on a morning, so toast is about all I can manage until about 11 am.”

“Coming right up.”

“Ionee, you’re a sight for sore eyes. Come here and give your favorite member of Alchemy Myth a hug.”

I pressed my arms around this wide, dark haired man with a huge smile on his face and mischief dancing behind his eyes. “You forget, I have no idea who you are… you’ll have to remind me before you can declare you were my favorite.”

“Still the same spunky Nee, I see. I have missed you.” I tried not to let his words affect me, but I was terrified that I wouldn’t live up to their memories of me or feel disconnected from them because I couldn’t remember them. Just then, a taller, thinner man with long hair tied back from his face appeared next to him, slapping the other man around the head.

“Ignore the tosser, Nee. He’s Charlie, I’m Fox. And I was always your favorite. You just tolerated him. And,” he said, turning to Charlie. “I’m sure Nee doesn’t need the reminding about a past she can’t remember, isn’t that right?”

I shrugged, scrunching up my nose and then nodding.

“Shit, sorry. So what do we do? Pretend we don’t know you and that this is the first time we’ve met?”

“Well, no, but it is for me. I don’t remember a thing. But I don’t know how to do this either, so maybe just see how we go. Is that okay with you guys?”

“Anything for you, Nee,” Fox answered, wrapping his arm around me and leaning his head on my shoulder.

“So, Arch said you have a gnarly scar. Can I see?” Charlie interrupted.

I laughed, shaking my head. “Maybe later. I’ve just done my hair.”

Just then, a loud scream pierced the air as the hotel room door slammed shut. “Ionee Millar, if you ever vanish like that on me again, I will hunt you down and murder you with my bare hands. Now come here and hug me.”

I span on my heel to find Lea in front of me. I knew who she was because we’d talked on the phone before I’d shown up at Archer’s hotel and she insisted on FaceTiming so she could see me. She didn’t pause or hold back nervously; no this woman launched herself at me, tears streaming down her face as she hugged me so tightly I couldn’t breathe.
