“Jesus Christ, Nee, you look like a fucking queen,” Lea screamed, flinging her arms around her friend.

“Not too much,” she asked, running her hands over her outfit.

“Are you kidding me? You have a body to die for and that outfit shows it off to the max. Archer is going to come in his pants.”

“He totally is. That boy has no control around you,” Charlie laughed, pressing a kiss to my cheek. “You look hot as fuck, Nee.”

“I can hear you, you cheeky fuckers.” I stepped from the back of the room and that was when I saw Ionee, a loud groan falling from my lips.

Wearing a tiny navy blue romper suit. The flared shorts sat just below her ass and the top was a low cut halter neck, leaving her back exposed. She’d added a tan belt around the waist, a gold cuff around her forearm, and a gold necklace that landed between her breasts, along with her bracelet from me. She carried her tan colored boots in her hand, while her hair was pinned up so you could see her scar if you looked closely enough, and I loved that she wasn’t trying to hide it.

Wrapping my arms around her waist, I couldn’t contain the growl that rolled from my lips, making her giggle.

“I guess you like, Arch.”

“Do we have to go out? You’re going to kill me dressed like that.”

“We do. You’re going out to say thank you to your crew and I want to dance. Do you dance, Arch?”

“I’m in a band. Of course I dance.”

“You’re in a rock band that doesn’t dance at all.”

“Good point. I’ll dance with you if you want me to.”

She kissed me softly on my cheek. “I want you to.”

“Okay, boys and girls, are you ready?” Dawson yelled.

“Shit… my tablets. Give me a second.” Panic flashed across Ionee’s face. “Also, what if it’s too loud or too… you know, seizure causing?”

“When will you start trusting that I’ve got you?” I whispered. Dawson has your ear protectors if it’s too loud, although we’ve hired the entire club so the DJ will lower the volume so we can all chat and there will be no strobe lights, but taking your tablets is all on you, so go get them.”

“You’re the best, Arch. I’m not sure how I’ll ever thank you for taking care of me so well.”

I pressed my hand to her naked back. “You can confirm that you’re not wearing underwear under that outfit and call me your good boy, and I swear I’ll be set for life.”

“I can confirm.” She ran her fingers along my jaw, bringing her lips to my ear. “My good boy.”

I groaned, watching her hips sway as she headed back to her room, trying to curb the need pulsing through my body.

Chapter 37

Ionee

Sweaty, breathlessandwitha smile so big, my face hurt, I wandered to the bar to order Lea and I drinks.

“How you doing, Ionee? You good—the volume, the lights? Are they all set to the ideal levels for your fragile state? I mean, there are what, a hundred, hundred and fifty people in here, but you are the only thing anyone seems to care about. I mean, we can’t have you suffering, can we?”

I turned to the side, staring at a dark haired woman that looked familiar.

“Sorry, do I know you?”

She laughed. “Probably not. I mean, I’m not sure Archer would want you to know where he spent all his time while you were missing.”

I froze, and she noticed, reveling in my reaction.

“Well, you enjoy your water. I’m going to get a shot or two. Remind myself of how much Archer and I used to drink together. I’m sure he’s loving living the clean life with a woman he used to love but is now stuck with, out of some sort of duty. I mean, you can’t remember him, can’t stand loud music or flashing lights, probably don’t fuck him so well anymore. So, you have to ask yourself, Ionee, why would a world famous rock star be with you if it wasn’t guilt because you got injured when you were with him?”
