“Oh, God, we’re going to need shots for this.”

Once the shots had been delivered to the table and I’d downed two, I started to list my dream man qualities to appease my friend.

“Fine, but I never want to be reminded of this conversation. I will put it down to booze and art show excitement.” I held my fingers up in the air, pressing on them one at a time. “Dark haired. Tattoos, obviously.”

“Obviously. Tattoos are a must,” she laughed.

“He needs to do something creative. I don’t want an office type.”

“Right. Next?”

“Is it wrong to want someone to want me? To pine for me. To only find solace in my touch?” I paused. “Or does that make me co-dependent?”

“No, that makes you passionate and you expect the same in return. And…”

“I want someone who wants to find my clit and will spend hours trying to make me come if that’s what it takes… although, I’d really love someone who knows where all the important bits are and can make me come in minutes.”

Lea leaned her head on my shoulder. “You want to be worshiped and adored. There’s nothing wrong with that either.”

“Yeah, but I also don’t want some alpha asshole who wants to slam me against walls and try to dominate me. I want someone who will bend to my will and drop to his knees because I tell him to and that’s the bit men seem to hate the most.”

“There is someone out there right now who wants what you want. The other half to your soul. The yin to your yang. Ask the universe to bring you him. Wish for him and let me show you just how powerful those cosmic powers can be.”

“Bloody romantic bugger. Fine. I wish the universe to bring me the man of my dreams and help me find true love. And when I find him, he will give me something in a blue Tiffany box, so I know he’s the one you’ve sent me.”

“There you go. It wasn’t that hard, was it?”

I picked up another shot, holding it out to her in a silentcheers.“We’ll see if it ever comes true.”

“And then you can thank me for it and buy me a house when you’re a world famous artist to show your gratitude.”

I snorted out a laugh as I tossed my long, wavy, caramel hair back over my shoulder before lifting the glass to my lips. “Love you, lady,” I declared, before knocking back my drink.

“Love you too, Nee.”

Archer

“Hey,babygirl.Howyou doing?”

“I’m good, Arch. Laura is here, too. You’re on speaker.”

“Hey, Arch.”

“Aw, I get two for one. What are you guys up to?” I asked.

“We’ve been shopping. I needed a dress. You know how much I hate to shop, so I made Laura come with me.” My youngest sister, Sophia, groaned down the phone.

“Did you get one?”

“Of course. The shopping police wouldn’t let me leave until I did.”

“Rude,” Laura, the filling in our sibling sandwich, laughed. “You won’t be complaining tonight when you look fabulous and hook up with some hot man.”

“You guys going to a party?” I asked, putting my phone on the kitchen counter while I filled a glass with water.

“It’s a pop up gallery opening. Our friend has her first show. She’s amazing… very, erm, alternative, but she’s definitely unique,” Sophia explained, giggling at the end.

“Okay… why does it sound like you’re not telling me something?” I teased.
