“I’m not talking about Archer like that… you know I won’t. We all have our kinks.”

“And this is Archer’s?”

“Still not talking about what we get up to in the bedroom, but you can tell me what happened with you, Fox, and Charlie.”

Lea shook her head. She’d refused to tell me anything after they had their falling out, other than that their little threesome was over.

“No. There’s no point. It’s done.”

“Lea, it’s not like you to be so angry with people. Did they hurt you?”

She glared at me. “No, of course not.”

“Then…?”

“Fine,” she huffed. “Fox told me he loved me.”

I coughed, not expecting it at all. “What?”

“He told me he loved me. He wanted something more than we had… me and him or me, him and Charlie… I didn’t really stick around to ask. I’ve not spoken to him since. I’ve spoken to Charlie about it, and he was as shocked as me. He doesn’t want anything more with me and he confirmed what I thought, that Fox was pussy-drunk and he’d get over me in no time. Only it’s been two months and he still texts me every day and hasn’t given up trying to show me how he feels.”

“Well, that was not what I thought you’d tell me.”

She shrugged.

“And you can’t just explain that you’re not into anything serious and make up with him?”

“Nope. If I get too close, I might crack. I mean, have you seen the guy?” She rubbed her temples. “He’s relentless and he won’t take no for an answer, but how do I explain that I want something different?”

“You had sex with him and his friend… I think he knows that vanilla isn’t really your color. What is it you want, Lea?”

Leaning back against the wall of the backstage room we were getting ready in, Lea’s face fell. “Is it wrong to say I don’t fully understand myself, so how can I explain it to someone else? I just know it’s not what most people are chasing. I don’t want the husband, the 2.4 kids, and the house.”

I let out a soft laugh, taking her hand in mine. “Archer was the same. He tried all the conventional things we are told we should want, but he needed time and space to explore what he needed.”

“And now.”

“And now we’ve found what works for us. He gets all his needs met, as do I, but it’s not in a traditional sense.”

“Maybe you two are the exception.”

“Or maybe we were honest enough with each other that we could explore things together. Do you like Charlie?”

“Not like that. It was fun with him, but nothing more.”

“And Fox?”

Her cheeks flushed. “I liked him. But he’d never be enough. How do you say that? I like you, but I’d like to fuck other men and watch them fuck you as well.”

My eyes widened. “Shit, Lea. Have you always felt like that?”

“I mean, yes… no… I don’t know. I’ve thought about it, but it wasn’t until I messed about with Charlie and Fox that I realized that’s exactly what I want.”

“Did Charlie and Fox… with each other?”

She shook her head. “No, but God, I wanted them to. Sometimes it was all I could think about.”

“Talk to him. I mean, he obviously likes you and he knows you like more than one man at once, so maybe it won’t come as such a shock to him. Maybe he wants the same thing, but you can’t be angry with him for catching feelings for you. I mean, look at you. You’re a goddess.”
