I leaned in, pushing my face into her hair, the scent of her coconut shampoo surrounding me. “Not for me, but I think we have to wait until I’m not on tour. Let me speak to Dawson later, because I want some time off so we can honeymoon in style and start making those babies.”

Turning, she lifted my cap slightly, sliding my sunglasses to the tip of my nose so she could look me in the eye. “That sounds like a wonderful plan, Arch. I can’t wait to be Ionee Walters.”

I tilted her head so I could kiss her slowly and deeply, filling her with all the emotions that raged through me.

Mid-kiss, Nee’s stomach growled loudly, making me snigger against her lips. “You want food, beautiful?”

“I want you,” she whispered.

“Food then me. Then I need to go work so I can pay for this extravagant wedding my wife to be wants.”

“Not extravagant, cheeky. Sand, sun, you, and a flower crown. I don’t need anything else.”

“You deserve the world, but first breakfast.”

New York had got busier when we weren’t looking. Pete obviously noticed too, moving closer and nodding his head back to the hotel.

“Stay close, Nee. Pete’s getting his antsy eyes.”

Wrapping her fingers in mine, she leaned into my side as we made our way back through the park.

When a young woman appeared in front of us, I tried to step around her politely, but she was having none of it.

“Archer? Archer Walters? Oh my God! It’s you. It’s really you. I’m your biggest fan. Can I get a selfie?”

I smiled, not reacting or giving any indication that she was right, like we’d been taught to do, quickening my step and tightening my hold on Nee.

Obviously not happy, she chased after us, but Pete got in between me and her. “Miss. If I could just ask you to step back.”

“I love Alchemy Myth. I love you, Archer,” she screamed.

“Bloody hell,” Ionee whispered as the four bodyguards closed in around us.

“We’re okay. Just keep moving.”

But we were anything but okay. The closer we got to the hotel, the bigger the crowd seemed to grow and one girl's hysteria seemed to fuel everyone else’s. Fans were screaming, crying, reaching out to get their hands on me. Ionee’s face grew pale and Pete shouted frantically down the phone.

“I’m scared, Arch.”

I didn’t want to tell her I was starting to shit myself as well, instead I tried to reassure her with my touch as we battled our way to the hotel.

“Cops are on the way and more security is coming down,” Pete yelled over the chaos.

The hotel was in sight and I finally let out a breath, believing that we would make it back in one piece, and then I was calling Addi about extra security. As we moved, the crowd seemed to surge, closing in on us, our bodyguards unable to hold them back. It only took a second; Nee was right next to me and then she was gone. Screaming her name, I tried to turn, to find out where she’d vanished to, but all I could see were the screaming faces of strangers.

“Pete,” I yelled, his hand appearing on my shoulder. “Where’s Nee? Find her, please.”

“I need to get you inside.”

“Find her!” I shouted. Suddenly, more of our security team emerged from nowhere, surrounding me and escorting me inside, while Pete vanished into the crowd.

Stepping into the hotel, the crowd hammered against the doors and windows. Anger and fear battled in my chest, making filling my lungs with air feel impossible.

A hand landed on my shoulder. “Archer, you need to step back. It’s not safe.”

Turning, I was met with the huge frame of one of our new security team I hadn’t learned all the names of yet.

“My fiancée is out there. She needs me.”
