Closing his eyes, he let out a huff. “I’ll just ask the boys. I didn’t speak to her much before we hooked up; they told me everything I needed to know, so it’s no different now.”

“Except you're all sad and brokenhearted,” Archer reminded him.

“Yeah, except that.”

We made small talk as the plane took off and then talk turned to what rides we were going on first, although Lea offered to hold our coats as she was terrified of them all.

“God, I’m going on a diet when I get home. My trousers are way too tight,” she giggled, popping the top button.

“You sure you’re not pregnant, Lea?” Nee asked, looking excited. “I mean, you are getting poked by three virile young men.”

“Virile?” Charlie laughed, his eyes still closed.

“Cheeky fucker,” I growled as I threw a napkin my beer had been standing on at him.

“And to answer your question, no, I am not. I have my period as we speak.”

“TMI, Lea.” Archer rolled his eyes.

“From the man who gets tied up and lets his wife paint him and display it for the world to see,” Lea replies in retaliation.

Archer wiggled his brow, pulling Nee up from her seat now thefasten seatbeltslight had gone off. “Talking about my wife. She’s very tired. We’re off for a nap. Don’t worry if you hear her screaming. It’s a very bad dream.” Nee blushed as she waved goodbye before letting Archer lead her away.

Charlie opened his eyes. “Yeah, I might make a move too. I’ll be up front, with my headphones on, but no making out, please. I don’t need to see you four going at it.”

I flipped him my middle finger as he grabbed his stuff and moved away from us, obviously needing some time to himself.

“Shall I go sit with him?” Lea asked, watching him leave.

“Na, give him some time. He really was in love with her.”

“And she can’t make it better?”

I shook my head, because I was there when it happened and there was no taking it back. Once she said what she did…” My face screwed up at the memory.

“That bad?” she whispered.

“That bad,” I replied sadly. “Anyway, enough about them. Are we really spending two weeks together? No phones, no work, no distractions, just a pool, a bed and the sun?” I asked excitedly.

Marshall grinned, reaching out his hand. “We all need it. This one especially.” He nudged a tired, pale looking Lea, who leaned her head against his chest.

“I can’t thank you all enough for dropping everything to come with me and Fox. I was having a complete meltdown about the idea of leaving without you both.” Dawson looked around between us, looking almost happy.

“We know, we heard Muscles here fucking you calm again.” I winked.

“Jealous, Bunny?”

Before I could answer, Lea stood up, looking almost green, and ran to the bathroom.

All of us watched her, a strange atmosphere settling over us. “Do you think…” Dawson started. “God, can you imagine? Us with a kid. How fucked up would that be?”

I turned, my eyes narrowing. “I think you just took over as the wanker of the group, Daw. What a fucked up thing to say.”

“What? I’m as emotionally available as a fish encased in ice…”

My lips twisted. “Great analogy. Continue…”

“I can’t be a dad. I don’t have it in me.”
