He frowned. “Y’all. The three of you.”

My hands fisted at my sides, needing to protect the band, but also the people I was fucking… in a relationship with… in lo—Nope. Nope. Nope.

“Your services are no longer required. I appreciate you taking care of Ionee for Archer, but I need staff I can trust. You can stay with us until we leave New Orleans, but then I’ll book you a flight home.”

Marshall’s face darkened. “You’re serious?”

“Deadly.”

Marshall

“Marshall, canIcomein?” Lea asked from outside my hotel room, where I’d been hiding since I finished work today.

I didn’t answer.

“Marshall, I know you’re in there. Pete told me.”

I pulled a pillow over my face, hoping that would make her vanish.

“I’m not going anywhere. I’ll sit out here all night and you’re too big and muscly to go all night without food, so you’ll have to open the door, eventually.”

I slammed the pillow down next to me and pushed up from the bed.

“Marshall, please. We need to talk. Dawson told me what he did.”

I stalked to the door of my room, pulling it open to find Lea standing there, wearing a short pale blue sundress, sunglasses on her head, and heels in her hand.

“You going somewhere, Sugar?” I asked, trying to avoid the conversation I knew she was here to have.

“Look, I’ll be honest. I’m going a bit stir crazy stuck in hotels and tour buses. Do you want to come and get something to eat with me?”

I grabbed the back of my neck, my eyes scanning down her body, noticing how long her legs were and that she obviously didn’t have a bra on under that dress.

“I’m sure you have enough people pining to spend time with you, looking as beautiful as you do.”

She lifted her sunglasses off her head, folding the legs and feeding them over the top of her dress before pulling her hair up into a high ponytail. “God, the humidity in this place. We need to talk, Marshall. We can go out and get to know each other while we do it or we can do it here, in your room. It’s your choice.”

“I know what I did was wrong and I’m leaving in a couple of days, so I don’t think we have anything to discuss.”

“We fucked on a table without checking that we were alone on that bus. You did nothing wrong other than appreciate what you were seeing. You did appreciate it, right?” She looked up at me through her long, dark lashes.

“You have no idea.”

“Right, so you’ve seen me naked and watched me fucking two men. I think the least you can do is buy a girl lunch.”

I huffed and grabbed my wallet and keycard from the side. “Fine. Let’s go.”

We chose a diner just down the street and I pointed to a booth at the back where I could keep an eye on the door. My instinct to protect never switched off. Lea waited while I took a seat and I thought she’d sit across from me, but of course she didn’t. Pushing in right beside me—so close she was practically in my lap—she drowned me in her warm, summery scent.

“There are two sides to the booth, Sugar. You could sit over there.”

She laughed, picking up the menu the server had left on the table. “I could, but where would be the fun in that?”

“Are you always this forward?”

Her eyes widened. “Is it a problem?”

I shook my head, letting out a sigh.
