“How long do I have you?”

I laughed, holding out my arm, showing off my tattoo. “Apparently for forever, but at least for the rest of the day. Tell me, what do you desire?”Yeap, I totally pulled off my Lucifer impression.

“You’re way too nice to be the devil, Fox. But, if I had a magic wand, I’d want to work out to get rid of some of this pent up emotion and then I’d want to go sightseeing.”

“Sightseeing? Like a tourist?” I rolled my eyes.

He shook his head. “Ignore me. It’s just I’ve been here for months and I’ve not seen any of the sights, other than driving past them in a car while working.”

“Daw would freak if I donned a baseball cap and sunglasses and try to sneak you into the Tower of London. You know how he feels about that particular disguise.”

He locked his hands together, stretching above his head, letting me a glimpse of his tanned abs again. “You really like him, don’t you?” he asked.

“He’s okay.” I winked. “It seems I like to surround myself with men who are tough nuts to crack.”

“Are Charlie and Archer the same way?”

I paused. “No. Those boys are open books. There isn’t a thing we don’t know about each other. We’re due to have our weekly lunch tomorrow and I’ve not held it here since I got back because I didn’t want to make you feel uncomfortable. Would you be okay if they came over?”

“It’s your house.”

“It’sourhouse, and I know you’re not really down with the situation.”

“I appreciate that, but invite them. I can make myself scarce.”

I spluttered my words. “W-what? No. You live here. Come to dinner? Please.”

“Can we go work out?”

“You go ahead, I don’t have underwear on, which is never a great way to exercise. I’ll meet you in there in five.”

“Okay, you’re fitter. I give up. You’re a machine.” I wiped a towel across my sweat covered face. The hair that had fallen from my bun, sticking to me. “I mean, you can probably lift more than I weigh.”

“Looking scary is part of the job. The bigger the muscles, the scarier I look.”

“Have you been talking to Matt? He’s terrifying. Apparently, when he was a bouncer, people didn’t dare start trouble around him.”

He laughed, pushing up from the weight bench. “Come on, let’s run 5k. It will stretch out your muscles and ease the aches tomorrow.”

“Or I could show you how I usually exercise.”

He cocked a brow when I pointed to the yoga mats rolled up in the corner of my home gym. “Can I tell you a secret?”

“Always.” I wanted all his secrets. I just wish he trusted me enough to spill them.

“I can’t touch my toes. I’m so unflexible.”

I tried not to think about Marshall bent over trying to reach the floor. “I feel like that’s a challenge.” Just as I was about to say something else I probably shouldn’t to the straight man in our group, my phone buzzed. Reading the message, I typed out a reply.

“Change of plan. Go shower. You’ve got half an hour.”

“For what?”

“We’re going sightseeing.”

His eyes creased at the corners as he smiled. “Really?”

“Really.”
