“Amelia,” Logan said. “You saw her yesterday. She seemed okay.”
Yeah, he had, but he’d also seen her glancing at her phone and tossing back far too many glasses of champagne. She was pretty drunk by the time he’d left and had even asked him to take her with him.
Any other time and he would’ve said yes.
“I’m not going to Philly, Aimes. I’m heading to Chicago.” He’d kissed her cheek as he stood by the door of the Uber.
She’d nodded and wrapped her arm around herself.
“Who is this guy?” Aidan had asked.
“No one. An asshole.”
There wasn’t a lot he could do to take away her heartache. Not when she wouldn’t tell them anything.
“I’ll call you in a few days.” He’d hugged her one last time and then climbed in the car.
“I asked Blake to keep an eye on her. They all flew back to Oahu today,” Logan said.
Great.
There was a fifty-fifty chance he’d get distracted or get Amelia in more trouble. It went either way with Blake.
“What about our NYC cousins?” Aidan asked.
“They’ve flown directly back to New York.”
“Okay, family time is over. I want my husband back now,” Emma said. “Husband. I have a husband.”
Aidan smiled.
“Have fun, you two. Don’t terrify the staff and spend the entire time naked.”
“Spoil-sport.” Emma laughed.
Aidan ended the call and stared for a long moment at the bed and then the bathroom.
“Fuck it. I’m having a bath. This place is goddamn freezing.”
Aidan ripped off his shirt, turned on the taps, and ordered some room service. Then he began formulating his plan to win Lily’s heart.
