She smiled to herself.

His cock was pretty perfect, too.

Wow, she really did like this man. Was this how her mom felt about her dad when they fell in love?

Lily didn’t want to read much into Aidan’s words, but his being here was making it hard not to.

She’d expected him to slip away when her father had taken his last breath. Instead, she’d found him patiently waiting for her and then he’d taken her and her mom home. To be honest, he was a far more thoughtful man than she’d been expecting.

But long term, she knew this wasn’t a relationship that would last.

Surely, he knew that.

In a few days, they would bury her father and then she’d have to return to work. She didn’t want Aidan to leave. But she also didn’t want him to stay. She had nothing to offer and would hate herself if she used him during her grief and then ended it.

It was almost laughable to think she might break his heart. Despite her dad berating her, she still found it crazy that a man like Aidan would want her.

Lily let out a sigh and her fingers dropped away.

“Morning, beautiful,” Aidan said, his voice sleepy.

“Hey,” she said, as he pulled her against him and gently kissed her.

Lily’s heart fluttered.

I need you to go. I don’t want to hurt you and I can’t have my heart broken twice if you decide you don’t really want me.

That little voice in her head was still not sure Aidan wasn’t being a rebellious billionaire despite how amazing he’d been.

She hated herself for it, but couldn’t he see how different they were?

“How long have you been awake?” he asked, his husky voice.

“A few minutes,” Lily answered.

“How are you feeling?” His fingers brushed a few strands of hair from her face.

She shrugged. “Sad.”

And horny.

Lily wasn’t sure why she didn’t want to talk to Aidan about her dad. She just wanted him to hold her. To fuck her.

Perhaps allowing him into that part of her soul was going a little too far.

Lily lifted her leg over his hip, and Aidan let out a groan. “Do that and I’ll slide inside you.”

Then, to her surprise, he shook his head and rolled onto his back. He turned his head. “What do you usually have for breakfast?”

What?

She was hoping he was on the menu.

“Hot billionaires,” she said, climbing on top of him. He let out a short laugh but grabbed her hips.

“Lily, your dad just died. I understood the need to fuck last night, but I’m not here to distract you.”

“Then why are you here?” she asked, sliding back down on the bed and letting out a huff. She immediately regretted the words, but maybe she was vying for an argument.
