After all, he’d known Lily for only a matter of days. Sure, he’d met her three months ago, but during that time she had been in Chicago, and he’d been living his life, looking forward to seeing her again.

It wasn’t love at first sight.

Lust, yes.

Now here he was, throwing his toys and storming out of her suite becauseshehad said she didn’t want to see him after they returned home.

Like a fucking teenager.

Don’t talk about this like it’s going to continue when we leave Hawaii. It won’t and you know it.

Why? Because of Matt?

Jesus.

Images of her back in her office with Handsy Matt leaning over her desk and looking down at her top had hit him like a ten-ton truck, and Aidan had seen red.

The only thing he could do before he said anything more hurtful was to leave.

After all, what right did he have?

None.

And why did he care so much? Because that’s what he did.

His mom had once said to him, “Aidan, you act the fool, but I see you. When you love, you love with your whole heart and soul. Just make sure you choose the right people to give the pieces away to.”

He lifted the bottle of water to his lips and drank half of it in one go.

They were staying at a large property on Maui that belonged to a friend of Daniel’s. His cousin had sourced it for Logan and Emma when they’d announced they wanted to get married in Hawaii.

This meant they were all going to be in much closer quarters than they were in Waikiki.

Aidan needed to apologize to Lily.

He had questions about why she wouldn’t want to continue seeing him, but for now, he needed to play it cool around his father.

Aidan did respect it was Logan’s wedding, so he wasn’t going to do anything to upset any of the family. After the confrontation yesterday, it was better to just grin and bear it.

When they got home, Aidan was going to confront him.

Lily might normally be right. Anyone else he would normally hook up with like this, and the fun would be over when their flights were called.

Not this time.

And she was about to learn he didn’t give up easily. Distance meant nothing to him. If he wanted her, he was going to have her.

“All aboard,” Harper announced as she entered the cabin through the main door.

“She’s sober, I promise,” Daniel advised and got a slap on the chest for it, while Kristen laughed.

Jackson, Hunter, Fletcher, Addy, and Olivia followed, having chosen to leave their jets on Oahu.

Olivia sat down next to Lily, who was curled up reading a book.

“Hey, oh, can I hold him?” Lily preened as Baxter gurgled.

“He needs changing,” Olivia warned.
