CHAPTER FIFTEEN
The property was hugeand impressive, even to him. Aidan had stayed in some incredible venues in his life, but this was prime beachfront Maui real estate.
It was fucking stunning.
They settled into their rooms and spent the afternoon moving between the pool and beach, being served lunch and cocktails. Then, when everyone had arrived, including Emma’s family, they changed for dinner.
The long table was scattered with delicious dishes, wine, and brightly colored tableware and wine glasses. Plumeria flowers filled the air with their tropical fragrance as glasses were topped up and plates handed across the table.
“A toast,” Andrew said. “On behalf of your mother and I, we wish you all the very best for tomorrow to be all you dreamed of and go off without a hitch.”
His mom lifted her champagne flute and smiled at Logan and Emma.
“Thanks, Dad. Mom,” Logan replied, and then Emma’s dad stood.
“I know this is a little premature, but I wanted to say how happy we are to have such a wonderful son-in-law. Emma, you have chosen a good man. We both wish you a lifetime of happiness.”
Aidan had only met Emma’s brother and sister-in-law, Kevin, and Jada, briefly at the engagement party, but they both seemed nice. Lily, of course, knew them and was sitting next to Emma’s mom.
More toasts were made as the champagne flowed.
After dinner, it didn’t take long before they were all standing around the pool mingling, talking, and enjoying the music. Tomorrow would be a big night, so some were already heading off inside.
Blake was talking to Lily and Emma, so Aidan made his way over.
“South side? You’re so badass,” Blake teased her.
“I’m not badass. I’m poor.” Lily laughed. “Emma grew up there, too. And her family. They’ve all moved now, though.”
“I’m trying to get her to move to Philly.” Emma nudged her arm.
Aidan was taking a drink of his Macallan when Lily’s eyes met his. He might have to recruit Emma to help him persuade Lily to move.
“So, did I hear that you want to be a teacher?” Blake asked, and it took her a moment to slide her eyes away and answer his cousin.
