The rain stopped just as suddenly as it had started, and Jordan skidded to a halt, throwing his pack to the ground. “Fucking great! Everything’s soaked, and I’m lost in the jungle withyou!”

I threw my own pack down. I was so sick and tired of his attitude. Enough was fucking enough.

“I don’t want to be here with you, either.” I pushed at his chest, my hand slipping on his wet skin.

“You’re the worst person in the whole world.” He launched himself at me, but I sidestepped him, and he went crashing down to the muddy ground with a wet splat and a punched-out cry.

He didn’t move.

Fuck. What if he was injured?

“Jordan. Jordan?” Taking a cautious step closer, I tried again. “Jordan?”

There was no movement.

What had I done?

I crouched down next to him, placing my palm on his soaked skin.

Quick as lightning, he flipped over, yanking me down with him, and rolled us, pressing my face down into the mud with the heel of his hand.

Spitting mud from my mouth, I scooped up a handful, wiping it across his face.

“You wanker! Stop trying to get one over me!” He flung a dollop of mud straight at my eyes, but I twisted us over, making it fall uselessly to the ground. I was so fucking pissed off that I could barely think straight. Getting on top of his body, slippery from the mud and the rain, I pinned his wrists above his head, meeting his irate gaze.

“Just submit, Jordan! Fucking hell, you stubborn twat!” I shouted in his face, and he froze for a second before bucking his body upwards, trying to throw me off.

“No! I’ll never submit to you!”

“Yeah?” I dipped my head, my voice low and dangerous. “You think so? We’ll see, you insufferable fucking brat.”

His eyes widened, his mouth forming an O. I smirked down at him. Finally, I had the upper hand.

At least, I thought I did.

“Fucking. Make. Me.” He yanked one of his wrists free, shoving me to the side and rolling with me, his fingers digging into my arm, right where I’d been feasted on by the bloodthirsty mosquito.

“The storm’s over, boys. Do carry on with today’s Focusactivity.”

Jordan and I both jumped at the commanding voice coming from behind us. I quickly rolled off Jordan, climbing to my knees. Wiping the worst of the mud from my face, I turned to the brown-haired man who’d interrupted our fight. His piercing grey eyes scanned us both as we drew apart.

He looked to be around a similar age to Jordan’s agent, and he was accompanied by a guy around my age, maybe a little older, with windswept brown hair and deep brown eyes. The younger guy looked familiar, but I couldn’t put my finger on it.

“Who the fuck are you? The activities police?” Pulling himself upright, Jordan shot the older guy a cocky grin.

The younger guy burst out laughing. “Yeah, Cal. Are you the activity police? Island security, maybe?” He turned back to Jordan with a grin that was just as cocky as my teammate’s. “I wouldn’t be surprised, Jordan. The man wears many hats around here. I’m Jett Roman, by the way, and this grumpy old dude is Callum Ryan. And I already know who you both are! I’m a huge fan.”

Jett Roman. Now I remembered who he was. An American child star who, from what I could remember, was in the tabloids a lot. He’d found a kindred spirit in Jordan, then.

Callum side-eyed Jett, clearly unamused. “You both need to continue with your Focus.”

Predictably, Jordan ignored him, focusing on Jett. His eyes sparkled as he shot Jett one of his bright, mischievous smiles, and I gritted my teeth. “This is absolutely insane! I can’t believe it. We just saw your movie—that really sad one where you’re a rock star and you die at the end? What’s it called?” He snapped his fingers. “Oh, yeah!Destined for the Stars. Theo cried like a little baby!” An obnoxious laugh fell from his throat.

Fucking liar. We didn’t even have a TV in our villa, and if we had, we certainly wouldn’t have been watching movies together. No. Instead, we’d both—Fuck. Last night had been a mistake of epic proportions.

“Jordan.” I gave him a warning look.

“Theodore.” He put on an extremely irritating, mocking voice. His lips curved into a smile as he lifted his hand, motioning at his cheek. “You’ve got a bit of dirt, just there.”
