“I don’t really have one,” I chuckled, shaking my head. “My dad passed a few years ago, and mom moved to Washington with my sister. I talk to them when I can, but beyond that, I don’t do anything other than justthis.”

“Fucking random girls?”

I wrinkled my nose at the thought. “Nah, that screams STDs. I don’t do that shit. There’s plenty of ‘em that do, though. To each their own. I ain’t gonna judge.”

“So if you’re not here for the sex, what is it? The drugs?”

Man, I was really stumping this girl—and I was loving the puzzled look on her face.

“Drugs aren’t really my thing either.”

“Okay, so then what is it then? The brotherhood?”

“Yeah, it’s just my life—this is how I grew up. You’ll see me in about half of those pictures as a little kid, just running around the clubhouse like it’s no big deal.”

“Interesting.”

I shook my head as she went back to the photo albums, her eyes scanning the pages. Closing my eyes again, I grabbed for one of my extra blankets, pulling it over myself. As much as the woman intrigued me, I was fuckingtired. My body drifted off into dreamland, figuring that Hannah could show herself out whenever she was done looking through the books...

But then my phone went off.

I let out a groan in the dark room, my elbow bumping against something as I reached for my phone on the nightstand. Ifroze, whipping my head around to see Hannah, passed out on the pillow beside me with an open photo album beside her, the flashlight on her phone still on.

Yeah, this girldefinitelydidn’t understand one-night stands around here.

But the sight was also kind of...cute.

So I left her be, grabbing up my phone and swiping to see a text from Tippy.

We have a problem. Meet me out back NOW.

“Shit,” I grumbled, swinging my legs over the bed. I’d just have to trust that Hannah wouldn’t go digging too deep into my room while I was gone...

Otherwise, she might find something she didn’t like.

Chapter 5

Hannah

Where the hell am I?

I rubbed my eyes, instantly wishing that I hadn’t, mascara smearing across my hand. There was minimal lighting in the room, and as I moved my arms, I brushed up against something with a sharp corner—like a book.

A photo album.

My body went rigid as I realized that I had fallen asleep in Viper’s room. I whipped my head around, half-expecting to see him there on the other side of the bed.

But he wasn’t there.

I sat up, a couple of the scrapbooks sliding off my lap. Embarrassment flooded my chest, turning my cheeks hot as I smoothed out my hair. There was no doubt that I was going to be taking the walk of shame this morning—and I hadneverdone that before. Taking a few deep breaths, I slung my legs over the side of the bed, and stood to my feet.

Where are my shoes?

Slinking across the room, I made it to the door, flipping on the light switch. It lit up the room, and I squinted, scanning the floor for my black booties. Finally, I saw them shoved halfway under the bed. Relieved, I slid them onto my feet, gathered up the books that Viper had gotten out for me, and put them back on the shelf that I had taken them from. I had been able to take pictures and a lot of notes, giving me quite a bit of information, though I still felt like I didn’t fully understand.

But that was because I spent more time having sex with Viper than talking to the members.

Ugh. I’ve already fucked this up.
