I nodded, relief flooding over me. “I think that’s a good idea.”
He narrowed his eyes. “Wait, why? I expected to be comforting a sobbing Hannah right now—are you cheating?”
“We’re not together. You literallyjustsaid that.” I could barely keep my composure, reminded of just how big of a jerk Alex was when he was ‘over’ us. We’d been through the cycle so many times...
But I was finallyoverit.

Chapter 10
Viper
“She’s back at the café,” Gunner’s voice said the moment I answered the phone, stepping out onto the clubhouse porch.
“Guess she was hungry?” I suggested, though I knew that Gunner wouldn’t be calling if she was just picking herself up food. “Or is there something else you need to tell me about the trip? Shoot me straight, prospect.”
“She met up with someone—well, some guy, actually.”
“Who?” I demanded, already feeling the jealousy creeping up in my chest. I had told her that we weren’t together, but I didn’t mean that she needed to run out and rub it in my face.
I mean, I hadjustpulled my dick out of her an hour ago.
“It’s some guy from out of town. I think it might be a boyfriend—maybe anex-boyfriend, actually. She didn’t really seem too keen on seeing him, and to be real honest, he’s a fucking gaslighting dick from the brief conversation I’ve heard so far.”
My skin crawled at the thought of someone being a prick to Hannah. Yeah, I wasn’t a saint—and she was annoying, but still. Something about it burned me.
“What do you want me to do?” Gunner asked to my silence. “I stepped outside for a minute to see if things would calm down between the two of them, but I don’t know, man. It’s tense as fuck.”
“Maybe I should pay them a visit,” I seethed out loud, my thoughts racing. My mind was picturing some twat chatting her up, touching her body in the way that I just had. “I can be there in ten minutes.”
“All due respect—and not my place to, you know, tell you what to do, but I don’t know if that’s the answer to this. I think I should just see where it goes. I think Hannah can probably handle herself. She wasn’t exactlynice to him, either. Maybe we should just see what happens.”
I hesitated, my head knowing that he was probably right, but the jealous asshole in me thinking something totally different. “Fine. Get the hell back in there and keep an eye on it. Keep me updated—and I mean it.”
“Yes, sir,” Gunner chimed as he hung up the phone. I slammed it down on the rail, letting out a frustrated shout.
This is fucking stupid.
I’d been jealous before, but not like this. I wanted to beat the livingshitout of whoever was sitting across from her in a booth—but at the same time, did she have a boyfriend I wasn’t aware of?
The thought made my stomach sick. While I was a biker, who definitely had a longer rap sheet than I wanted to admit, I didn’t fuck around with women who were in relationships. That was off-limits for me.
Just like I didn’t expect my women to fuck around on me, nor me on them.
Except I made it clear she wasn’t.
“What’re you grunting and groaning about out here?” Bear stuck his head out of the open doorway, giving me a curious look. He stepped out when I shrugged, handing me the second beer in his hand. “What’s up?”
“It’s nothing important,” I grumbled, popping open the bottle on the porch rail and taking a swig. “I need to be more concerned about that missing shipment.”
He nodded. “Yeah, I don’t think any of us saw that coming.”
“Someone fucking saw it,” I snapped, taking another drink. “And I need to go visit Charlie Hughes, but I’ve been a littledistractedtoday with some other shit. I haven’t even been able to give the guy a call.”
Bear nodded, scratching the white beard on his face. “And I’m guessing that thedistractioncomes in the form of a cute little blonde who just so happens to be Vinny’s niece, right?”
“Yeah, that’s the one.” I hated to admit it, but there was no one else in the club that I could talk to—not about women shit. “I don’t know what to do about her. I slept with her at the party, and I thought it was a one-off kind of thing...”
