“Who the fuck is your partner?” I growled, leaning down to get right in his face. It was a shot in the dark, but based on the fact he hadn’t given his partner a name was evidence that no one knew who the partner was.

“You know I asked that it be kept confidential.” Francis spit in my direction. “I don’t give that out. I work in complete secrecy.”

“Right,” I snapped. “Of course, you do. But you still owe us a hundred grand, and if you’re not going to get it to us now, then we’ll have to take care of it one way or another.”

“I’m not telling you assholes anything.”

Wow, what a dick.

“Youoweus money,” I barked, noticing that Francis jumped in his chair.

He’s not so tough.

“Listen,” he said quickly. “All I want to do is get through this and move on with my life. It wasn’t my idea to get in bed with you, and it wasn’t my idea to sell the drugs to those idiots out there in Oakland with their counterfeit money.

Drugs from where?

“I’ll get you the money.”

“You better,” I snapped, carefully kicking the chair rather than him. “Why didn’t you use the drugs out of the Silent King warehouse to pay us back?” I eyed Viper and Axle, who were both standing quietly in the background.

“How—how did you know about that?” He lost all confidence when he looked up at me, his face growing paler.

“We know alotof things.”

“Everything,” Axle added from the background.

“Fuck,” he groaned. “I was trying to get a leg up. I thought—”

“You thought you would make up for being a crook by doing something right,” I cut him off, laughing at the absurdity. “You should’ve known that would just put the spotlight on you when the feds came in, right?”

“No…” He shook his head. “I was trying to bring down your competition. I know the Steel Heretics were the ones who were behind that warehouse massacre and the drugs would’ve led to their arrest.”

Competition? Who the fuck does he work with?

“Hardly our competition,” Axle shot out, picking up where I drew a blank.

“They’re running you out, building a fucking empire. The Silent Kings were doing a good fucking job with your support. Chaz was happy with my decision to turn it in.”

Chaz. The biggest drug lord in Oakland. Holy shit.

“Chaz isn’t happy about you owing him money,” I said, my voice darkening. “And so we think we have a better way to settle this issue.”

Francis visibly shuddered. “And what is that?”

I leaned down in his face, my nose only inches from his. “You can disappear from this town andnevercome back.”

“I’m not fucking leaving,” he growled back at me.

“Then maybe we should turn you over to the Steel Heretics?” I suggested, pulling a knife from my pocket. “How does that sound?”

The fear that flashed in his eyes gave me some sick satisfaction, knowing that our fucking club was enough to scare the man shitless. “I-I-I can probably leave town tonight if that’s what I need to do. I can be out of your hair. I don’t want to fuck with those bikers, man. You know they just fuckin murder anyone and everyone and then dump their bodies in the desert.”

“Oh? Sonowyou can get the fuck out of town.” I laughed, letting the sadistic tone creep in. “How about tonight?”

“Yeah, yeah,” he nodded. “I’ll be gone tonight. I don’t want to fuck with those guys. I-I-I’ll have my partner drop off the money at the safe spot as soon as he gets it. It’ll all be good, and by then I’ll be fuckin’ gone.”

“Alright.” I stepped back glancing over to Viper and Axle. As I did, my phone slid out of my pocket, falling face down on the tile. I grunted, leaning over to pick up. The screen was smashed, and as I clicked the lock button, it only gave a white screen.
