Callahan visibly shivered. “I should go and let you eat with your friends, maybe I’m coming down with a stomach bug.”

“No.” His words came out more forceful thanhe’dintended, but this was his only shot. She left to go home tomorrow, andhe needed her to realize what they’d done. What he’d done. Fuck. Once she knew, there was no denying it anymore. She’d take a test and the answer would be right in front of them, undeniable.

“Stay, I’ll make us something else to eat.”

“You cook?”

“Well, Ireheat.” He stood, knowing she’d pull her hand away if he tried to help her up, and headed into the kitchen. “What sounds good? We have leftover chicken, some sweet potato ground turkey mess—”

“Do you have any chocolate syrup?”

Jasper snorted into the fridge, hiding his humor. Nothing about this was funny, it really wasn’t. But knowing that she was pregnant and asking for chocolate for dinner was comical. “You want chocolate syrup for dinner? Not very responsible of you,Callie.”

“Don’t call me Callie.”Perched on a bar stool, shereminded him once again that she wasn’t a fan of the nickname.“And bananas. Do you have any bananas? Oh, or peanut butter?”

Chocolate syrup, peanut butter, and bananas. Great. His baby momma was going to gain five hundred pounds and he’d have to wheel her into the hospital like a barrel. He grabbed all three ingredients and sat them in front of her, trying to keep his expression as blank as possible. “Not a pizza fan?”

“I love pizza, it’s just that pizza smelled bad. Your friends are probably going to get food poisoning.”

He watched as she peeled the banana then dipped it into the jar of peanut butter before drizzling chocolate syrup on top. She took a huge bite and worked to chew around it all. How was he supposed to segue into:Btdub, I knocked your fine ass up? He wished Axie were here. She was nicer than Blake. Blake would laugh in his face, but Axie would help him steer the conversation with humor dancing in her eyes like a wicked little minx.Axie. That was it. Simply thinking her evil name had given him an idea. She was a bear when she was about to start her period and she ate the weirdest shit. It was perfect.

“PMS-ing?”

Callahan put her hand to her perky expanding chest, swallowing around a mouthful of her banana concoction. “Excuse me?”

“When my sister is PMS-ing,she eats some crazy stuff. Once she melted Hershey’s chocolate bars over an entire container of goldfish crackers.”

“Uh, not that it’s any of your business, but I…” Callahan stared at him for a few moments, then looked down at the half-devoured banana in her syrup-covered hand, her face paling before his eyes. “I, uh, I…” She dropped the banana then put her clean hand over her mouth. “I think I’m going to be sick.”

Jasper reached into a cabinet and grabbed their vomit bowl. Why they kept it in the kitchen and continued to use it for popcorn, he’d never understand. Callahan gaped at him like he’d lost his mind, then jumped off the stool and ran to the bathroom and slammed the door in his face when he tried to follow her. He also didn’t understand why he’d tried to follow her into the room. Who wants to watch someone else vomit?

Evenwithout supernatural ability, he could hear her puking. She was the loudest puker he’d ever heard, and that was saying something because Blake didn’t hold back. A stomach bug had run through the three of them when they first moved in together and he and Riley still made fun of her for the acoustics.

Riley’s bedroom door opened at the top of the stairs, his head poking out and his gaze meeting Jasper’s.

Heshrugged, resigned that his night was going to suck giant donkey dick. A puking chick was in their bathroom and when she came out, he was going to have to convince her to take a pregnancy test. Riley sent him a small smile and then pulled the door closed as Blake tried to stick her head out too.

“Hey, Callie, you okay?”

The toilet flushed, then the water turned on in the sink. A few minutes later, shewalked out, a confused frown on her pretty freckled face. “I’m sorry, I should head home.I don’t want to get you sick. Hopefully, it’s only atwenty-four-hour thing.”

Try a nine-month thing.

Jasper was sure him reminding her about her periodwould’vedone the trick. She was late by now, if only a day or two. She didn’t like the smell of the pizza, she was scarfing down weird shit and then throwing it up. Plus, theboobthing. “What if it’s not a stomach bug?”

“The flu? Nah, it’s summer and it’s not going around campus.” She stepped past him and grabbed her bag, slinging it over her shoulder and placing a hand on her stomach like she was feeling nauseous again.

Okay. For a brilliant chick she was being super fucking slow on the uptake here. Damn Riley and his supernatural abilities.Shewas moving toward the door and with every step she took Jasper was losing his nerve to confront their situation.

Riley stuck his head back out of his bedroom dooragain, glaring down at him from the second story like he heard Jasper chickening out through the walls. He gestured with his head to the retreating red-haired beauty. Ugh. So he and Blake were listening to Jasper flounder through the door. Fantastic. Exactly what he needed, an audience.

“Callahan, wait.”

“I’m feeling pretty crappy, Jasper, I need to go lie down.” Her hand was on the doorknob, her back to him.

He hung his head, closing his eyes and steeling his nerves. He’d done this, and it was up to him to figure out where they went next. Fuck-boy or not, this was his responsibility and he didn’t wantherto be alone when she found out when she could be with him instead.

“Could you possibly be, uh, fuck.” She turned to face him and he took a deep, fortifying inhale. “Could you be pregnant?”
