“Never tap a man sleeping naked in someone else’s bed,” he growled softly, his gaze littering her face. “You look better,” he remarked softly.

“Thank you, Mr. Glover. I feel on top of the world. Please, kindly let me up, sir.”

“Sir?” he said softly, but he released her all the same.

“Thank you,” she said, neatened her dress, and handed him the tea. “Bloomings Tide Morning Cuppa. Take a sip. It’s the best tea around if I may say so myself.”

“Yeah?” Isaac asked, smiling. He really shouldn’t smile. It was an unfair advantage.

“Yeah. Take a sip,” she insisted. He obliged her and then complimented the tea.

Good. One down, two to go.

She wondered who she was going to encounter next. It turned out it was Chance, who happened to be coming out of the bathroom, still dripping wet from a shower and resoundingly naked.

Being in BT meant her dating life was nonexistent, as was seeing naked men in person.

She was too stunned not to stare and only snapped out of it when Chance put his hands on his hips and grinned at her.

She was so glad she’d had that pep talk with herself last night. She completely eradicated any thoughts about them simply because she would never measure up. Also, she was a mayor. She had a certain degree of professionalism she had to maintain, and they were not going to turn her into a simmering groupie.

There.

That was what she needed to hear herself think again. Without missing a beat, she placed the cup of tea on a side table, then walked to the closet and withdrew a bath sheet.

“Towel?” she said, holding it out to him. He came toward her like a giant predator in his prime, proud, powerful, and dangerous. The damp heat from his body brushed over hers, and he took over her personal space. She couldn’t breathe. His chuckle almost undid her when he finally took the towel and wrapped it low around his waist.

“Tea?” she said, next handing him the cup she picked up again. She had to keep her eye on the bigger picture. “It’s Bloomings Tide’s finest beverage,” she said, waiting for him to take a sip, which he thankfully did.

Giving him a satisfied smile, she excused herself and went in search of Trey.

She found him dressed in a pair of black silk drawstring pants, sitting on a chair with his feet up and a laptop on his lap.

“Good morning, Mr. Marshall. I thought you would like to have a cup of our finest tea, specially brewed just for you.”

He grunted something, but she remained unscathed. Closing the distance between them, she handed him the cup, not backing down until he took a sip.

Except Trey rose slowly to his full height. She couldn’t help swallowing a small ball of fear in her throat.

He closed in on her until she was forced into the side of a desk, her spine curving as she had to arch back.

Her body had become accustomed to their signature heat and sizzled under his nearness. She was so wet already that Trey had just completely broken the cycle of unwanted lust in her body.

The only thing separating them was the cup of tea she was holding onto like a lifeline.

“What’s in the tea, Mayor Kalista?” He asked softly.

“Just a taste of Bloomings Tide, Mr. Marshall. Sip?” she said sweetly. For one glorious moment, his stern features cracked into a slight grin before he straightened and took the cup from her.

She licked her lips as he took a sip and then almost ran from the room.

She had done it. Now she just had to gather up a crap ton of things for them to use to get their show on the road. Everything had to happen tonight because the judges were leaving tomorrow morning. This was her only chance.

She filled three baskets with sheets and glitter, light bulbs, and paint, and all the makeup she owned.

Right.

She grabbed her keys from her bed and headed out the door.
