I looked down at the tattoo I had on my chest. The same one my brothers had, and the same my father had. Our family crest sat in the middle of my chest, with celtic knots all over our pecs that led up to our shoulders. There was a spot or two under my pec where I could get the tattoo done. Not many would question it when they saw it, because it wouldn’t be the center piece but I would know it was there and that was all that mattered.

“Here,” I pointed to the area free from ink. She nodded.

“You’re Killian, aren't you?” she asked as she pushed the button on the end of her pen.

“Yeah.”

“I’m Tash. Just call out if you need me to slow down but judging by this ink, I doubt you’ll have an issue.”

“Just do it. Her name is Sloane.”

I spelled it out for her and she nodded. “I’ll do it justice.”

She probably thought she was dead and I was putting her name on me because I wanted to remember her, but I knew this was the only way I would be able to keep her.

The needle began to hit my skin and I closed my eyes, relishing the feel of the pain hitting my chest. I didn’t want to admit to anyone but I loved getting tatts. The pain was a huge turn on.

The way Tash was biting her bottom lip, I knew I was going to be able to get rid of the boner I was about to pitch from the pain.

What better way to say adios to Sloane than by fucking another pussy?

Conor nudgedme and woke me up from my memory slash dream. “We’re here.”

I looked around at the sunrise setting over the hill and the apartment block that I knew Sinead lived in. We’d done our recon when Sloane was going to move down here and I’d looked up shit on her cousin but she had hidden her associates well. I’d not seen one fucking thing to warn me about what Sloane was walking into.

“Let’s go inside.”

I followed Conor inside, keeping my gun beside me, on full alert. The apartment was dark, and I already knew they weren’t here.

“Where the fuck would they go?”

“They dropped the van off,” Conor said. “It was downstairs. So they did come back at some point but Sloane definitely isn’t here.”

“They wouldn’t keep her here,” I said. “Lorcan’s guys already checked this place out before.”

Conor picked up a folder and flicked through it, pulling a piece of paper out and looking at it.

“What is it?” I asked him.

“It looks like a list of members that work for Ronan.”

“Really?” I replied, going over to look at it. For months we had been trying to get information on his operation and there’d been literally nothing to find.

“I’d say it was done by Sinead. Maybe she was trying to overtake them and had to create her own track record.”

“Sinead has always been someone who wanted the best of everything. Even when she was younger, nothing her parents ever gave her was enough. She was always stealing other people’s limelight.”

“So sabotage?”

“I wouldn’t put it past her.”

I noticed a name on the sheet that had my blood running cold. Snatching the piece of paper out of Conor’s hands, I looked down at the name.

“Amity.”

Conor’s eyes widened. “Shit. How the hell could she possibly be involved?”

“I don’t know, but this shit needs to be figured out and fast. I can’t leave Sloane with them any longer.”
