“Beautiful,” Charlie said.

Clara’s dad smiled when he saw her.

“You look stunning,” he said. “You look just like your mother.”

“Thank you,” Clara said.

Charlie smiled at Ethan as she took his arm, and they walked down the aisle together. Then, everyone stood as the wedding march started to play.

Clara took a deep breath as she and her father walked slowly down the aisle. The crowd disappeared as she stared at the handsome man waiting for her at the altar. Her heart was beating a million miles an hour.

The officiant smiled as Clara’s father kissed her on the cheek and sat down in his chair next to her mother.

“I understand that you guys have written speeches,” he said.

“We have,” Dillon said.

“Dillon,” the man said.

“I never knew the definition of love until I met you. You taught me that love was about happiness and laughter. You taught me that love was about supporting each other through the rough times. Being with you filled an emptiness in me that I never knew existed. I am honored to be your husband.”

“Clara,” the officiant said.

“You taught me what real love is. You taught me that real love is something to be celebrated, not feared. You taught me that love is more than a word. It is about two halves of a whole coming together and becoming one. You complete me. I am honored to be your wife.”

The officiant said, “Dillon, do you take this woman, Clara Montgomery, to be your lawfully wedded wife, to have and to hold, in sickness and in health, for richer or poorer, as long as you both shall live?”

“I do,” Dillon said, in his deep voice.

“Clara, do you take this man, Dillon Adams, to be your lawfully wedded husband, to have and to hold, in sickness and in health, for richer or poorer as long as you both shall live?”

“I do,” she said.

“You may exchange the rings,” he said.

Dillon put a ring on her finger and said, “With this ring, I thee wed.”

Clara slid a gold band on Dillon’s finger and said, “With this ring, I thee wed.”

“By the power vested in me, by the state of Colorado, I now pronounce you man and wife,” the officiant said. “You may kiss the bride.”

Dillon kissed Clara.

“May I introduce to you, Mr. and Mrs. Dillon Adams,” the officiant said.

Dillon and Clara drove to the venue where the reception was together, along with Zeke.

“I love you,” Clara said.

“I love you,” Dillon replied.

He leaned over and kissed Clara.

“No, not that again,” Zeke said.

“You just wait,” Dillon said. “Some day when you are all grown up, you will meet a beautiful woman who you will fall in love with.”

“Girls have cooties,” Zeke said.
