“The rest of our lives.” I fist the front of his shirt and pull him in for a kiss. “Together. Forever.”

“Isn’t this convenient?” I swing our joined hands between us. “We can walk to the farmer’s market from our home.”

Grace’s ruby-stained mouth twitches. “Yes, the commute to our weekend tradition was the main selling point. Not to mention you had nothing but empty space for my book collection.”

I yank her toward me to kiss the snark off her lips. “Don’t tease me, woman. You love being rocked awake from my morning wood grinding into your ass.”

She sighs and I greedily sip her breath. “I choose to be the little spoon for a reason. My eager beaver approves of your chipper dipper.”

A fresh memory from two hours ago surfaces. Waves of black hair tickled my thighs. Perky tits were thrust out for me to suckle. Cries of passion as Grace rode me to completion.

And now I’m walking into a family establishment with a boner.

“Sure do complement each other,” I rasp.

My girlfriend is completely oblivious to the havoc she wreaks just from walking beside me. She smiles at fellow shoppers that we pass, whether they’re recognizable or not. They return the gesture. That’s just her effect on folks. I even find myself smirking for no reason other than watching her interact. It’s involuntary and infectious.

“Let’s be honest,” Grace murmurs. “You didn’t have to twist my arm. I’m extremely infatuated with you.”

My palm finds her ass, giving her a gentle squeeze. “That’s good, seeing as I love you to infinity plus one.”

“You know that doesn’t really make sense.”

“Just go with it.” I lean in, nibbling on her upturned jaw.

A disgruntled scoff disapproves of my public affection. “You didn’t dump him yet?”

I straighten to find Jasmine glowering at us. “Thanks for the boost to my pride.”

“Oh, poop. Did I wound your fragile ego?” She snorts, resembling an angry mare that the stud rejected. “Aww, so sad for you.”

A weary exhale whizzes from me. “I’m a changed man.”

Grace nods. “He’s stuck with me.”

“More like stuck on you.”

“Permanently,” she coos and nuzzles my nose with hers.

“Gross,” Jasmine mutters. She trudges off without another unkind word.

Grace shrugs at her retreating form. “Bet she wishes there was a thick piece of morning wood rocking her awake every morning.”

I hum while rubbing my chin. “That would probably improve her mood.”

Three familiar faces appear in the crowd. The little girl sprints toward us, spreading her arms wide. We’re both going down in a messy collision if I don’t catch her. She launches herself at me in a graceful lunge. I spin her around until the landscape blurs, then for a precise collision with the ground.

“Hi, Garrett!” Sydney’s expression brightens the already sunny sky.

I tug on one of her pigtails. “Hey, kiddo. What’s new?”

“Umm…” She scrunches her entire face in extreme concentration. “Oh! I’m a first grader now.”

My hand hangs in midair for her to slap. “Excellent. Your brain is going to grow super big.”

She bobs her head in rapid succession. “My teacher says I’m the smartest.”

“It’s the truth.” I point at the love of my life. “Do you remember Grace?”
