I’m going to have to pay the price for what I’ve done.

“What do we do now?” I ask.

I’m basically at his mercy. I need to do what Legacy tells me to do, not just because he’s my president, but because I already fucked up royally. Legacy lifts his hand as he brings his phone to his ear.

“Raul, we got a problem. Have you talked to Dutch?”

There is silence for a moment. “Well, I’m pretty sure he killed one of my prospects and kidnapped Piper while we were dealing with Tempt. Which I would assume is all something he had pre-planned. See you there.”

He ends the call and shoves the phone into his pocket. “I’ll call Hellcat while we’re on the way, have him lock down the clubhouse. We don’t have time to go back. We’re heading to Raul’s now.”

Sucking in a breath, I dip my chin in a nod. I’m not saying a word. I need to follow command on this one if I have any hope of getting Piper back.Fuck. I can’t believe I did this. My heart races, and my palms sweat as we all rush toward our bikes.

Duke slides into his car, shifts into gear at the same time we roar out of the doctor’s parking lot. Following behind Legacy, I ride in line as we make our way toward Raul’s place. I don’t know if we’re going to his safe house, his office, or his home, and I don’t give a shit either.

The only thing I care about right now is finding my wife.

My bike moves, my body guiding it without even looking at where I’m going. It doesn’t matter. Blindly, I follow behind Legacy and the others until they pull into a driveway and stop. Killing the engine, I throw my leg over my bike and wait for everyone else to disengage from theirs as well.

I’m ready to kick some ass and take some names, but I know I can’t go in there and kill everyone in sight… yet. But I will. They will all die. As soon as I have my wife back in my bed, they are all fucking dead. I don’t give a fuck anymore.

“I had no idea he would take her,” Roadkill murmurs. “And kill a prospect. What the fuck?” he asks.

“What the fuck is absolutely right,” I grunt as we walk up to the door.

Duke leads the way, and he doesn’t even bother knocking. He turns the handle and waltzes inside like the owns the fucking place. The house is decent sized. It seems to be a little bigger than the one I bought for me and Piper.

There is a sofa and loveseat, some recliners, and a big screen television on the wall. There are also about fifteen men hanging around, including Raul, but I don’t see Tempt anywhere. I almost ask him where she is, but Raul offers the information without anyone having to ask a single question.

“Tempt is locked in one of the rooms. I haven’t fully been able to deal with her yet. I can’t get ahold of Dutch. I don’t know where the fuck he is, but this shit has his name written all over it. He’s had it in his head that you guys were fucking us over and giving us bad shit.”

I don’t say a fucking word, mainly because he is not wrong. I did fuck with their shit, and I fucked them over.

“Doesn’t matter now with you guys going legit,” he says.

But that’s a lie, because it does matter. Roadkill, Agony, and I don’t say a fucking word. We let Legacy take the reins on this shit. He’s the president after all. And I’m sure he’s ready to beat the absolute fucking brakes off us right about now, but I’m so anxious about Piper that I can’t concentrate on anything else.

“Dutch has been a wild card for a while. I used to like that about him. But since I’ve been in jail and am now out, he’s been out of control. He had too much power, and it’s completely gone to his head. He isn’t returning my calls, but one of the guys is looking him up. He doesn’t know it, but I’ve been monitoring him very closely since the incident with Cyrus.”

Continuing to stay silent, I wait it the fuck out and hope that we get some information, sooner rather than later. Looking over to the kitchen, I see a man sitting at the counter on the computer focused on his task.

“I told you that fucker was going to ruin your whole operation, and now we’ve got a dead prospect and an old lady missing. This cannot go without some kind of retribution,” Legacy states.

Raul shifts his attention to his feet, then slowly lifts his gaze up to meet Legacy’s. “He’s yours,” he murmurs. “I don’t want to know how you do it.”

“Understood,” Legacy murmurs.

Taking in the men, I realize they aren’t much different than us. They’re dressed differently, but it’s clear that these men are Raul’s inner circle, just as we’re Legacy’s. They are watching us, but it’s not out of anger, more curiosity and alertness. They all know what’s going down. There is an air of somberness that fills the space.

“I found him,” the man from the kitchen counter calls out. “He’s in the middle of the fucking desert.”

My entire being sinks.

Fuck.

PIPER

The helicopter ride is silent. The man thrusts some ear protection at me, and I hear him speaking with the pilot, but otherwise, nobody speaks to me at all. I’m honestly good with that, but I’m extremely curious about this work that wehaveto do. I can’t even imagine what it could possibly be. Didn’t he buy me from Dutch? Isn’t he a supreme bad guy? Although he isn’t groping or touching me at all, he acts as if I’m not even here.
