Pain consumes me as I struggle to open my eyes.
I can’t seem to do it. Everythinghurts.

“How? She’s in hiding, remember? We need to call her sister,” Zy responds.
They’re talking about me.
My spirit seems weightless as the room comes into view, but I’m not using my eyes to see it.
I’m dying,I realize.
It should frighten me, but it doesn’t. Death is more peaceful than I would have imagined.

“Her heart is slowing,” Zy says, his voice dropping with concern. “Issy!” he says, gently placing a hand over my heart. “Can you hear me? Please.Pleasedon’t leave us. We’re so sorry.”
