My heart started to pound. “Was it like a vision?”

He shook his head and paused for a moment. “It was, but at the same time, I knew I was standing in that room, Hollie. I was there. The little girl—she smiled at me and it was the sweetest smile I’d ever seen. She was clutching a doll to her chest, and she asked me if I knew who she was.”

Placing my hand on my stomach, I whispered, “Charlotte?”

Lucas swallowed hard. “I asked who she was, Hollie, and she said, ‘Charlotte, your daughter.’”

I gasped and placed both hands over my mouth. “Oh my God. Lucas.”

Nodding, he said, “I know! That’s not even the whole thing.”

“Tell me the rest!”

“I was so freaked out I took a few steps away from her. Then I fell—I’m not sure how—but I was just sitting there on the wooden floor of this old home. Charlotte walked up to me and she said…”

His voice trailed off.

“She said what?!” I cried out, causing Lucas to jump.

“Something about how it wasn’t time to give it to me yet. Then she said, ‘You need to wake up now, Daddy.’”

I was positive my mouth fell to the ground.

“That’s not all. Tripp was calling out my name, asking me if I was okay. I got up and Hannah said it looked like I’d been talking to someone, then I took a step back and fell over something that she couldn’t see. That’s when Tripp asked me what was in my hand.”

“What was in your hand?”

Lucas opened his hand to reveal an old locket. I reached for it, and the moment my hand touched it, the baby moved. I jerked my hand away and read the name on it.

Charlotte.

My eyes jerked up and I looked at Lucas. “When I touched it, the baby moved.”

He slowly shook his head. “Fucking hell, Hollie. What is going on?”

I stood and smiled. “This isn’t bad, Lucas. This just proves I was right! Lucy was right!”

Looking confused, he let out a disbelieving laugh. “This isn’t bad? Hollie, what are the odds I’d have this strange vision about a little girl named Charlotte on the same day you called our baby by that very name. We’ve never even mentioned naming the baby that. And what do you mean you were right? What was Lucy right about?”

Smiling, I took his hand in mine and nearly shouted, “Lucas! You’re a witch! Or a warlock, a pagan, or whatever you want to call it. I’ve had my suspicions since Ireland. This proves it!”

Lucas stared at me, his mouth dropped open and a stunned expression on his face. Then he busted out laughing.

“What’s so funny?”

He laughed harder.

“Knock knock!”

The sounds of Kristin’s voice calling out from downstairs caused Lucas to laugh even harder.

I spun around to walk away from him. “Ugh! I don’t even want to talk to you right now!”

“Wait!” Lucas cried out, bending over as he laughed. “Hollie!”

Storming out of the room, I met Kristin and Shawn in the kitchen.

“What’s going on?” Kristin asked as she looked past me toward Lucas.
