Asher tugged me out of Gabe’s arms. “Ready to go say bye to the apartment?”

“Yeah.” I waved to the girls. “I’ll text you.”

“You better,” Eva said, winking.

Stormy didn’t want to let Roman go, but released him when Petra called her back. “When’s the stuff getting there?”

“Tomorrow. We’ll stop by the apartment before heading home.”

“Did you have fun, baby girl?”

I stretched up on my toes in the elevator and draped my arms around Jace’s neck. “Yes. And no, I didn’t drink enough to make me drunk.”

“I wasn’t going to ask that.” He smirked and brushed his lips over mine. “But that’s good to know. Do you need to eat?”

“No, I’m good.”

“Do you need to be eaten then?”

My eyes went wide, and he smirked. “Ninety percent of problems can be fixed by one or the other, baby girl.”

“I’ll remember that,” I murmured. Then I looked over. “Ash, we need to go to class tomorrow.”

Roman cleared his throat. “I thought you weren’t rehearsing?”

“No,” I shook my head. “No rehearsals. Just class. Can’t go for two weeks without taking class or even normal rehearsals will be painful.”

“Yeah, we can go,” Ash said. “Should probably get back to it myself.”

Gabriel nodded. “Okay, but no more. Not until rehearsals start or your pickup rehearsals forGisellein a few weeks.”

“No arguments from me.”

The drive to my apartment didn’t take long. It felt strange that this was the last time I would be here. I needed to get the keys back to the management company. “Did you find the dead bodies I hid?”

“No, but we found your collection of toys.”

“You already knew about those.”

“True,” Ash said. “But now they’ll be at home wherewecan use them.”

Perfume floated through the car. I couldn’t think about them using toys on me if we wanted to make it home. “I need to stop taking car rides with the four of you.”

“Or you could take more… rides,” Jace whispered.

I flushed hot before he kissed me, barely letting me breathe before Gabriel parked the car. “Okay, maybe I’ll take more.”

“Thought so.”

I knocked on Noreen’s door first, and she answered right away. “I thought that might be you. Your guys have been here all day.”

“It is me. I wanted to say goodbye, but you can always call me if you need something, okay?”

She patted my arm. “Oh, you know me, dear. I’ll be fine.”

Noreen was older, and true to her word, she always seemed happy and fine. But that didn’t mean I couldn’t worry. “Still, if you need me, I’ll be here right away.”

“I appreciate that. Now don’t waste more time with an old lady like me. Not when you’re going home withthat.”
