"Nothing. From what I've seen and heard, they're living their lives feasting and breeding," I added.

Behlial's expression made it clear that this was exactly what had been happening while the Nayphyllym supposedly armed themselves for revenge.

"Elysian is of no consequence to us, as we were never of any consequence to them other than to supply entertainment," Grigori stated with disgust.

"What do you know?" Asmodeus stepped in front of Behlial, with eyes burning with hate.

"As little as you," Behlial replied, "besides that I kept the peace with the Nayphyllym for tens of thousands of years with my sacrifice."

"What sacrifice?" I laughed bitterly. "You enjoyed being the king of this ship, watching your sons kill each other, and then dropping the victor off on a dying planet. You loved the attention from the nobles."

"You can't fault me for trying to make the best of a terrible situation," Behlial defended himself.

"Alright, this isn't going anywhere. Do you have any ideas about where the Nayphyllyms might have gone?" Seth tried once again to get some information from Behlial.

"How did you find them on Adama?" I asked. "There are trillions of planets out there. How did you track them down to Adama?"

A tiny smirk on Behlial's face gave him away. As hard as he tried to keep it concealed, the arrogant fool couldn't hide his perceived superiority.

"You pups think you're so smart? Figure it out yourselves. After all, what's in it for me?"

"Your life," Seth pressed out between clenched teeth.

That got Behlial's attention. "You would let me live?"

Seth didn't falter. "If you can give us something."

"Don't bargain with him," Asmodeus warned.

"Where would I live?" Behlial kept his eyes on Seth, ignoring Asmodeus.

"We'll drop you off on Elysian," Seth promised, and my stomach clenched. Were we really going to allow the bastard to grow in strength again?

We stared at Behlial, who was obviously weighing his options. "You will return me to Elysian, unharmed, to live my life there?" he asked Seth one more time.

"You have my word," Seth said, and I inhaled sharply. None of our brothers looked too happy about it.

"But you better make it worthwhile," Seth added.

"Oh, it's worthwhile," Behlial snickered and shouldered his way past Seth and his guards, who looked at Seth for guidance. Seth gave them a small nod.

We watched Behlial take a seat. "The restraints are a little too much, don't you think?" He moved his shoulders for effect since his hands were bound behind his back.

"One thing at a time. How did you find the Nayphyllym?"

Behlial smirked. "I didn't. They found me."

Seth leaned against the wall, not showing how Behlial's words surprised him. "We're all ears."

Fay leaned forward, and I slung my arm around her waist, just as eager to hear what Behlial had to say.

"Your mother has probably already told you how the Daemons are the only species in the universe who can please a Nayphyllym?" He didn't wait for an answer. "They were willing to leave Elysian in exchange for Daemons or Tainted. They weren't too selective. Even though some Tainted can't give them children, they can still…" he wiggled his eyebrows, "please them."

A dark foreboding entered my mind, and I exchanged a glance with Seth, whose mind seemed to have gone the same way as his eyes narrowed.

"They never fled Elysian," I stated.

"They left Elysian," Behlial confirmed, "but they didn't flee. They would have won the war, and they knew it, I knew it. Only the stubborn Daemons didn't want to see it."
