I nod.

She gets into her car and drives off.

The moment I climb behind the wheel of my own vehicle, my phone rings.

Kaelyn.

I answer with a smile. “You couldn’t wait?”

“I needed to make sure you were okay.”

“I’m not okay. I want you to come right over. I want you on my bed in the next fifteen minutes.”

“Don't be impatient. You can wait for an hour.”

“Ten minutes.”

“Kastle.”

I tap my fingers on the steering wheel. “You want me to follow you home instead?”

“Are you kidding?” She shrieks. “My parents!”

I laugh.

“Are you sure you’re alright?” She pauses. “They asked a lot of questions. They asked about the show. About you.”

My lips quirk up. “You were worried?”

“Didn’t you see me trying to change the subject?”

“I saw. You’re very aggressive.”

“I was about to drag you out of there, but they got the hint and stopped asking after a while. They’re cool.”

“Very cool.”

“I’m glad we got to meet them this way. You were almost their client.”

“Yup.”

“Are you really okay?”

“How many times are you going to ask me that, Kae?”

“Till I feel better.”

“How about I make you feel better?” I ask with a grin as I flick the indicator.

“How?” Her voice is already breathless.

“Come. Over.”

She laughs, that dark, sultry laugh that starts deep in her throat. “I'm almost convinced.”

I’m about to whisper some more convincing words in her ear, but my phone beeps.

“You have another call?” she asks.
